This picture from 2014 should stay in his infobox because it's more recent, shows more colour, is a proper portrait of him and the imagery is more balanced. Please feel free to discuss. The Optimistic One (talk) 02:53, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
- I completely agree with the above statement. The first two points aren't as important as the latter two. The former two are also present in this photo and are added bonuses. The second attempted replacement was better than the first, but honestly I see no reason to use anything other than this in the infobox. I would not oppose having the others in the article somewhere. dannymusiceditor oops 19:59, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
"Need U" song by Tobu, dedicated to Avicii (April 2018)
Hello,
I found this song "Need U" by Toms Burkovskis (Riga, Latvia), stage name: Tobu, it is dedicated to Avicii here is the YouTube information:
I'm heartbroken, I won't ever believe that Tim is gone so soon, yet I know that we'll always be connected somehow and his music will live forever. He was [an] inspiration to millions of people. He was someone I looked up to, and I started to make music only because of Tim. I recorded this song [a] couple months ago and it felt right to dedicate it to my hero - Avicii ◢◤ I'm thankful for everything you've done!

Any feedback on what section this song's information should be positioned at within the article?

- This shouldn't be introduced into the article unless there are sources indicating that it's particularly notable. Lots of artists create "tribute" work when celebrities die, but only quite notable examples should be on Wikipedia. --Laser brain (talk) 11:36, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Vwanweb: I saw your request on the IRC help channel and it seemed that you were trying to argue the the Tobu-based sources were somehow sufficient to establish that Tobu's tribute to Avicii was sufficiently notable to add to the Avicii article. Several editors have tried to explain to you that they are not. Tobu's tribute would have to have been written about in some independent outlet for it to have a chance to be added the Avicii article; it would have to hold it up as a particularly noteworthy tribute. When you find such a reference, we'll be happy to discuss this again. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 06:29, 6 August 2018 (UTC)
Cause of Death: Unproven
Hello
I can't help that bring up that the original source of Avicii (Tim Bergling), committing suicide by self-inflicted cuts from a broken wine bottle, was originally posted by TMZ. See source link below. But considering TMZ has been known for years as being an unreliable news source, and have been accused on many occasions of stretching the truth for profit.
I am requesting that the incorrect detail be removed from the article. It is spreading false information, especially as it's the first cause of death that comes up when he is Google searched. It has never been proven, as details of his death were never officially released. Either by his family, or his representatives. And that 'Suicide' was implied in the statement released by his family. Although it has now been confirmed that he did in fact commit suicide. Following a discussion with 'Olga Heijins', manager of Laidback Luke, who was personal friends with Avicii.
I would edit it myself, but the page is protected.
I am again requesting this detail be removed from the article.
Thank you

I agree and will remove. Acebulf (talk) 20:58, 2 November 2018 (UTC)
Piggy backing on this, would anyone consider replace any references of the phrase "committed suicide" with "died by suicide"? Resirek (talk) 19:23, 4 March 2019 (UTC)
Substance Abuse
Did Avicii do any drug besides the legal drug alcohol? Spannerjam (talk) 20:17, 23 January 2019 (UTC)
Open Letter From Family (under Death)
I think someone should mention that the letter was originally in Swedish, and what is shown on this article was a translation. Some of the language is very clunky in English, so I think that is an important piece of context. I would make the edit, but the article is protected.
Maybe "On 26 April, his family released an open letter stating:" could become --> "On 26 April, his family released an open letter, translated from Swedish as follows:"
And since I'm on the subject of the translation, I think "avoided the spotlight" would be more appropriate as the translation of "skydde rampljuset" (rather than "shunned the spotlight"). But I am not a Swedish native, maybe someone else can confirm. Brick6900 (talk) 18:48, 1 February 2019 (UTC)
