Belle du Berry

I was in two minds about whether to create a separate article on her. I could still do that - do you have a strong view either way? Ghmyrtle (talk) 13:52, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Ghmyrtle: I was just looking at what reliable sources are available about her on the Internet. To justify an article about her, you would have to demonstrate she meets at least one of the criteria at Wikipedia:Notability (music)#Criteria for musicians and ensembles. Articles about musicians tend to be scrutinized closely, and I am not sure du Berry has enough notability on her own, as opposed to being a member of Paris Combo or in partnership with David Lewis, to survive being taken to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Musicians/Article guidelines for help on creating an article about a musiscian. If you wish to discuss this further, please do so at Talk:Paris Combo. I have that page on my watchlist, and will see anything posted there. - Donald Albury 14:11, 23 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Surgeon's knot Engl. / German Video

Good man, there was a reason for changing Surgeon's knot video. The English version is wrong! This knot is shown incorrectly at the base with just a simple overhand knot. The first knot must be started with a Double overhand knot. If you want it to be an English-language video, you have to pay attention to it. Thank you. --StromBer (talk) 15:47, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@StromBer: I am moving this discussion to Talk:Surgeon's knot. - Donald Albury 17:09, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nahuatl

I can't fınd any ıpa letters, ıf you can give me the whole set of ıpa letters, I will put the correct pronouncıatıon of "Nahuatl" that you reversed absent-mındedly. GlottalStop777 (talk) 23:31, 2 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@GlottalStop777: What are you talking about? I haven't edited Nahuatl since last May. - Donald Albury 03:08, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

YOU reverted MY correct edit

GlottalStop777 (talk) 14:32, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Me last month; I see an error in this article. Let me fix it! You; *removes correction* GlottalStop777 (talk) 14:34, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@GlottalStop777: Again, what are you talking about? I do not see any article that we have both edited, ever, until you started posting on my talk page. Were you editing as an IP (not logged in) or under another user name? Please provide a link to the page these edits occurred on. - Donald Albury 15:13, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, I edited it on THIS account

GlottalStop777 (talk) 15:48, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you can't even be nice, you shouldn't be a mod.

GlottalStop777 (talk) 15:50, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hiya, hope you don't mind but I was wondering what the edit was that you were mistaken for/over... I'm feeling a bit icky & needed to focus on something that didn't need too much brainpower :) Anyway, whilst I still have no idea why your name came up as a possible "culprit", the furore seems to have arisen over this edit, which was changed well over a week later: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Duolingo&oldid=932842332. Doesn't make much sense though since it was someone completely different, over a week later, on a totally different article... I'll admit I'm a little out of it on painkillers, but even then it still doesn't make sense!
Anyway, not sure if this is useful or interesting at all for you, but thought I may as well pop a note here, so my feeble effort isn't wasted! Happy Belated New Year 😁 Blue-Sonnet (talk) 19:03, 6 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Administrators' newsletter – January 2020

News and updates for administrators from the past month (December 2019).

Guideline and policy news

Arbitration

  • The fourth case on Palestine-Israel articles was closed. The case consolidated all previous remedies under one heading, which should make them easier to understand, apply, and enforce. In particular, the distinction between "primary articles" and "related content" has been clarified, with the former being the entire set of articles whose topic relates to the Arab-Israeli conflict, broadly interpreted rather than reasonably construed.
  • Following the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections, the following editors have been appointed to the Arbitration Committee: Beeblebrox, Bradv, Casliber, David Fuchs, DGG, KrakatoaKatie, Maxim, Newyorkbrad, SoWhy, Worm That Turned, Xeno.
