Objection to Request for Deletion and Removal of Tag

Note: Peter Boykin is very notable as the founder of Gays For Trump, as indicated on the page. He has been featured on multiple mainstream media sources, including Newsweek, Time Magazine, BBC, and a slew of various gay publications. As well as he is a politician who ran for political office. Although there may be some items that are self-published they tend to just add to the sources and his notability. One would assume that someone who has been featured in so many mainstream publications must be notable. Also, note the size of the contributions of sources indicates that this individual has a place on this page. I would suggest that instead of removing the article one would suggest what changes should be implemented. 7valentine7 (talk) 24:22, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Removing the Tag from the article, if you would like examples from other pages where a lot less information about individuals are supplied and they are still up I can provide. I would hate to say that due to the nature of the individual in question and his being controversial that in the same realm of Milo Yiannopoulos that many will attempt to shut down this article. I in good faith created this article with as much information as I could find on the subject. I have attempted to add information that has remained with fact and neutral to the matter. This person is notable, as many mainstream sources have covered him, and that he is a registered politician. All one has to do is a simple google search on this individual and the results are very high. Such is not for many people out there. This is why this person is of interest and is notable. I will remove the tag, as I object, I would have to claim that instead, this review history of the page has seen many individuals that did not have an issue with the article so this could be conceived as an attack on this article. 7valentine7 (talk) 24:39, 20 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

7valentine7, You cannot "remove" an AfD tag. I initiated a discussion about this page, and in a week, we'll get an answer.. – Muboshgu (talk) 04:58, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Muboshgu, Alright I have included my answer to this request, Peter Boykin is a Politician, and has been more than enough times notable to be followed and written about by a lot of mainstream media of notable sources, this more than enough can prove he is notable for Wikipedia, not even mentioning that if Gays for Trump is notable then its founder is notable as well. It would be like saying the Constitution of the United States is notable but its creators are not. Of course Gays for Trump is no where near the standing of the Consitution 7valentine7 (talk) 00:12, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

POV

I neglected to explain my tagging, my mistake. There is clear peacock terminology in this article, and use of quotes from Boykin for promotion of the subject. Also, it relies on POV sources, like Big League Politics. – Muboshgu (talk) 04:52, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you saw a POV source then you could remove that source? Although if you go to the source above and watch the video you can clearly see that Peter Boykin was attacked. Not sure how a POV can said considering the POV is from watching the video of the attack? 7valentine7 (talk) 00:54, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A closer examination shows more significant problems. The text "Boykin threw a peaceful event although in the city violent protesters were present." is supported by this NBC News source. This makes it sound as though protesters came to the DeploraBall and caused a scene. Really there's nothing about violence in the source, nothing about protesters protesting the DeploraBall (it's just about the general anti-Trump protests of the time), and no reason at all to call this a "peaceful event" among "violent protesters". – Muboshgu (talk) 04:56, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you research the DeploraBall there were multiple events in the DC area called "DeploraBall" the one in DC became violent and there was a considerable amount of protestors. If you note the article does explain that the "Gay" Deploraball was peaceful compared to the other violent events going on in Washington DC. 7valentine7 (talk) 00:04, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Can we resolve this POV tag? What would your suggestion be? 7valentine7 (talk) 00:08, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well done, Another Believer. – Muboshgu (talk) 05:40, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Muboshgu, Thanks. Sorry, I have not even read any of these talk page discussions yet. An edit to Gays for Trump put this article on my radar. What a mess! ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:41, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I am new... learning... 7valentine7 (talk) 06:06, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Another Believer, it was the same edit that brought it to my attention. I did not have it in me to slice and dice the mess like you did. Kudos. – Muboshgu (talk) 05:44, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions instead of Attacking This Article

Note this page stood for almost 48 hours and with multiple "bots" and users that helped to edit this page. Until I made an edit on the Gays for Trump page as per the suggestions in its talk page. Since then this page has been recommended for deletion although the subject is widely known in many media outlets. Notable media outlets. He also is a politician and former candidate for NC house.

I would suggest that before one attacks this page that one would suggest edits to the page to clear up any issues. Otherwise, I will keep a watchful eye over this page and fight changes until everyone can be satisfied. Though at some time these attacks must stop.7valentine7 (talk) 05:23, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

7valentine7, editors do not "fight changes" on Wikipedia. We form WP:CONSENSUS, and adhere to the WP:5P of Wikipedia, including WP:NPOV. If you want to be part of the discussion, I suggest you try not to make Wikipedia your WP:BATTLEGROUND. – Muboshgu (talk) 05:38, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I am new here, I don't understand all your lingo. But I sometimes call a rotten egg a rotten egg. I have included myself in the discussion. I am learning. As there have been a lot of edits to the page, I am glad that this is being done and those working on it can ensure that the page stays up. At the end of the day that's the whole point I made the page. I included as much information as I could find about the subject in anticipation of others stepping in to dispute such a thing. 7valentine7 (talk) 05:45, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

7valentine7, Muboshgu is right, please don't "fight" the changes experienced editors are making to the page. ---Another Believer (Talk) 06:40, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not. Thanks for cleaning it up 7valentine7 (talk) 07:21, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion of #GoRight

As with the new changes I see that the article still refers to the fact that Peter Boykin is still doing a broadcast called Maga First News, as indicated he has changed this branding to #GoRight with Peter Boykin. Please suggest how we can add this to the article and source it as the only sources were I assume from Peter Boykin's blogs? He does have the branding on this youtube, patreon, spreaker, and other locations as well indicating the change in his programs. Please suggest how we can go about adding this section.

Also, there is a movement he founded called #GoRight, please suggest how this can be properly added to the page. I do not have other sources to indicate this launch other than his own announcement7valentine7 (talk) 05:49, 21 January 2020 (UTC).[reply]

Redirect When you Search for Peter Boykin in Wikipedia

When you search for Peter Boykin in Wikipedia in the main page his picture does come up, but if you click it then it redirects to the Gays for Trump page, same is said in the search bar on the top right. This page used to redirect before I created a page to Gays for Trump I believed I removed that tag. Can someone please figure out why it still wants to do this?7valentine7 (talk) 05:58, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

7valentine7, I just changed the page Peter boykin to now redirect to Peter Boykin instead of Gays for Trump. Does this address your concern? ---Another Believer (Talk) 06:24, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that fixes the issue 7valentine7 (talk) 07:19, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
