Draft:Daniel Dugué wikipedia page

I added several external sources that are independent from the subject:

1. An article by Juliette Leloup describing his dissertation and published in the Electronic Journ@l for History of Probability and Statistics: http://www.jehps.net/Decembre2010/Leloup.pdf

2. Description of his contribution to the rigorous theory of the maximum likelihood estimator by Stephen Stigler published in Statistical Science: https://projecteuclid.org/euclid.ss/1207580174

3. Link to the Mathematics Genealogy Project: https://www.genealogy.math.ndsu.nodak.edu/id.php?id=72828

4. Link to the website of ISUP verifying that he was its director: http://isup.sorbonne-universite.fr/fr/l_ecole/histoire-de-l-isup.html

5. Link verifying all other facts of his biography published in Journal de la société statistique de Paris: http://www.numdam.org/article/JSFS_1987__128__258_0.pdf

Please let me know how can I improve this entry further so that it could be made into an article. He already has a French Wikipedia page: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Dugu%C3%A9

Athena submission

Hello Theroadislong,

We just see you rejected our submission: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Athena

We don't understand exactly why, because athena was a main pioneer website when we were building the Web of Culture.

Source references (books, magazines, websites) are reliable and completely independent from the athena project.

A copy of some sources can be found here: http://athena.unige.ch/athena/perroud/publications/perroud-athena-links.html However we didn't add this page to the draft.

Please could you explain what should be done.

Yours

Pierre Perroud

Wikipedia Veidehi Gite

Thank you for your suggestion to help me improve the draft. I have made the essential changes, however, I only quoted what I read in independent articles about the subject. Hope you find it appropriate now. Looking forward to getting it published.

Draft/KyleMcMahon

Hey, I completed the edits you and DESiegel suggested for Draft/KyleMcMahon

1. I took out the "trending on Twitter" sentence because the sources would be considered unreliable (a tweeted screenshot). 2. I also took out the sentence regarding the United Nations Youth Ambassadors Program because the only sources on that were from McMahon himself. 3. I updated two other sources to reliable sources. 4. I added Selma's Oscar win, which I found when looking up what studio the movie is from. I used the Academy Awards website as the source for the Oscar 5. Per DESiegel's instructions on adding a Credits / Filmography, I added a bulleted list with Title, Date, Studio, Credit. Which leads me to a question about this: As I was looking through sources, I saw that he has a credit on a Tina Turner tribute album but I didn't think that was notable enough to include. Is that okay to not include it or should I add it? (He also has one song through Warner Brothers that was free with the Oprah Lifeclass shows, which I am realizing now I forgot to add to the credits)

Thanks so much for walking me through this. I must say I'm having a bit of fun. It's like a research paper for the world.

UPDATE: Added WB song to CREDITS section. When you get a free moment, please let me know if the above changes are correct and what am I to do next. Thanks kindly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FrankNSteinJr (talkcontribs) 21:45, 7 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Just wanted to let you know you can take this off of your plate. Another editor with similar credentials was able to help me with it. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to delete this, so feel free to do so. I see you have a very long talk page, so wanted to get one potential item off of your list :) Thank you so much for the help you gave me with the edits on the original draft. help with DRAFT: UBQ Materials

Hey, Thank you for reviewing my draft of UBQ Materials. I have removed passing news references and included only feature news coverage that covers only UBQ. I also added a section on the company's technology. It's a very exciting recycling technology that can reduce the world's carbon footprint and re-use household/municipal waste -- which is good. Hope you will please have another look at the draft. Thank you.

Hello! You just looked at end article I put in my sandbox. I had it there because before adding it into the article on George Ainslie, I wanted to check it was sufficiently neutral. Are you suggesting my edit is OK just to put straight in? Its my first article. (Magminion (talk) 16:15, 10 June 2020 (UTC))Magminion (talk) 16:15, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Delhy Tejero draft

Hello, I am trying to publish an article about the artist Delhy Tejero in English, because it is only in Spanish (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Delhy_Tejero). It has been rejected because it does not include references about the artist that are independent from the subject itself. However, the references are independent and are academic and published from journals, museum catalogues or news articles. Here are some examples. Could you please give me some further information as to why these references have not been accepted as independent to the subject?

Balwant Dullat

This is regarding page on Balwant Dullat, you have seen the Preview and Commented that Balwant Dullat does not qualify for Wikipedia page and reason you gave is that not enough references and you also wrote that IMDB is not a reliable source. If IMDB is not a good source then it has link to Ministry of Information and broadcasting that and Directorate of Film festivals Government of India. Government of India site Clearly state about the National Film Award received by Balwant Dullat. He got the Award from President of India. Do you meant that is not enough Evidence. I can provide you 200 Pages from different Film Industry Magazines and newspapers that show the coverage of getting the Award but I do not find Links of the Film Industry Magazines and newspapers online. If you need the Publications I can send through Email or on any Address so that you can see the coverage. Ministry of Information and broadcasting and Directorate of Film festivals are Reliable and biggest source .National Award Function was selected on National Television(Doordarshan). I can send you video of the event. I hope you will accept my request and will help me create the page . I am not expert in creating the page. Theroadislong, I was trying to create Artical/wikipedia page for Film Director Balwant Dullat. You had rejected because it has IMDB reference and according to you based on IMDB refrence you do not recommend the page or denied it. I am no expert for Wikipedia like you. just to inform you I can give link to 100 Pages of Indian Actors or Directors who have just done only one Movie or Television Episode but they have wikipedia page will all the info and with photograph and these pages were created based on IMDB refrence. See these 3-4 pages just for your reference or external link is IMDB :https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amita_Nangia

 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navneet_Nishan (Refrence only IMDB)

__________________________________________

On Wikipedia I also read the below info

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Other_evidence_of_film_notability Not all notable topics have current or sustained significant coverage. In WP:NF#Other evidence of notability we have an explanation of this by its stating "A topic related to film may not meet the criteria of the general notability guideline, but significant coverage is not always possible to find on the Internet, especially for older films. The following are attributes that generally indicate, when supported with reliable sources, that the required sources are likely to exist".

"A notable actor, director, or producer's first film or final film could be seen as "important" in context to examination of their careers, if verifiable. This attribute require verifiability of the involvement of the notable person, without also mandating significant coverage of the involvement." Any biography Shortcut WP:ANYBIO "The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor, or has been nominated for such an award several times."

I hope you will understand the problem and will help me to create the Artical or page. I have posted more links on the DRAFT Page and please go through and help. Thanks and Best RegardsPARMJEETPALLU (talk) 23:59, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

orphan page warning

Hello,

On my new article William Popley it says at the top it is an 'orphan article' because it does not link to any other pages, but I count 20 links to other pages in Wikipedia. I have checked them and they do work, so I do not know why the 'orphan' message remains at the top, please can you advise? I have looked at the links it (the message) provides, but they tell you about linking to pages, not what to do if you think the message is incorrect.

Thank you for approving my article. Kind regards, (AA4BristolArchives (talk) 10:19, 15 June 2020 (UTC))[reply]

Advice on how to make an article neutral

Hello, Theroadislong, please help me make Draft:Arzamas (website) (which you declined) make more neutral, and what do you think shoukd be added to the article?--DonGuess (talk) 13:20, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sabine Kacunko article declined

Hello and thanks for your service. I have just added two references with full text-links and a number of independent literature-references (too many for the moment, I guess), partially linked to the full-text articles online, or online-books etc. My plan was to add cumulatively an appropriate number of references and links, meaning that I regarded as unnecessary to "show off" with too many independent quotes by simply overtaking them from catalogues, books etc. By keeping the number of references in a parsimony-way, I thought that such a rather humble method would best match the Wikipedia-requirements. My suggestion would be to start with publishing the article with the literature-references with links first, to which I would add one or another especially relevant one by using the key "more independent sources, the better" (geographically, language-wise etc.). Thanks in advance for your feedback and help with the article! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gimmeldal (talkcontribs) 08:53, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The draft is very poorly sourced, where did all the content come from? Each and every statement of fact requires a source. Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject see the guidelines on the notability of people. Request on 16:16:58, 17 June 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by EM2504

I am a little confused about this article getting declined. David Cook is the music director and piano player for one of the biggest touring musical artists in the world (Taylor Swift) and has a long resume of other artists he's worked with as well, many of whom are also very well known. As a point of reference, other people with similar backgrounds include Kristopher Pooley, Adam Blackstone and Glenn Zalenski, all of whom have wikipedia articles themselves. The Kritopher Pooley page in particular seems very similar in the number and type of references included. Is this just a matter of finding more recent articles referencing David Cook?

EM2504 (talk) 16:16, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

EM2504 Notability cannot be inherited, so who he has worked with has no bearing on his own notability and yes it is just a matter of finding in-depth coverage of him in independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 16:37, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Antonio Carraro

Hello Theroadislong, I saw your Comment: "No independent sources?" on the Draft:Antonio Carraro page. I would like to inform you that I'm looking forward to enriching the above article with independent and reliable sources in order to make the article better.

Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Francesco Andre90 (talkcontribs) 13:15, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Theroadislong, I don't understand the reason of your declining my last version of the Draft:Antonio Carraro: it seems that for you the "submission's references don't show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article", although I added two indipendent and reliable sources as references. I also saw other Wikipedia English company pages that have only "primary sources", not indipendent ones..

You also say that my draft doesn't meet Organization and Companies Notability criteria, but the Antonio Crararo page exists in all the other languages except from English.

I would be grateful to you if you clarify me the reason Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Francesco Andre90 (talkcontribs) 11:17, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Can you suggest how they might pass the criteria at WP:NCORP? The fact that other poor quality articles exist is not a strong reason for creating another, see other stuff exists.

Sabine Kacunko article declined - resubmitted

Dear editors, I have meanwhile resubmitted the proposed Wikipedia article, with respect to the editors´ objections regarding submission's references (number, variety, independence, relevance, reliability of links). They are included in 1. the list of the publications, 2. links to some of the referred names, institutions, phaenomena etc., and 2. the two references. I was keeping the number of references short, while the list of publications is longer, because the information stem from them, and which can be independently checked. I hope that now my submission matches the requirements for the Wikipedia article, including the guidelines on the notability of people. Thank you in advance for your consideration. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gimmeldal (talkcontribs) 16:36, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

About Arise from Darkness article

Hello Theroadislong, you created the Arise from Darkness article (note is was created back in 2018 and recently deleted). It was a soft delete so I worked on a draft to try and better the references. I have also clarified that I am an employer of the movie studio Ave Fenix Pictures out of Chicago. I wanted to ask your opinion and hopefully guidance about the quick proposed deletion to the article you approved. I must highlight the suspicion that the same editor proposed deleting all our movie pages on May 11th.
The article originally appeared to be deleted because the frame of references and now they discuss the film not being notable enough. I do not understand how a group of references can be enough for a reviewer and not another? (The WGN Chicago reference is an interview about the movie for Hispanic Heritage Month. I do see the video is not connected to the article any longer or it was moved. We do have the original interview that we can upload or connect if possible)
I do need to mention what strikes me is that two days before the May 11th deletions occurred simultaneously an email was sent to our film studio asking for precise wordage to be removed from several of our Wikipedia articles in relation to a movie. Within 48 hours all of our studio and movie pages on Wikipedia were proposed to deletion. It is stretch to believe that was a coincidence. It is incredible.... again, a reviewer accepts the article and the same editor who proposed the deletion, proposes its deletion again, 3 hours later. I believe it is evident that there is something personal.
I would be grateful in your assistance for advice and/or who should I contact to review the attitude of this editor?
Thanks!--Michael.j.schwartz (talk) 05:18, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Articles are accepted at WP:AFC if it is deemed that they would survive an WP:AFD, I considered it would indeed survive, anyone else is welcome to disagree as has happened, the afd process will decide if the article is notable enough to be kept. You have a clear conflict of interest and are being paid to contribute content about your own company, I don't think I can help you further. Theroadislong (talk) 09:12, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your quick response and advice. I want to make clear I entered Wikipedia in 2017 and I declared my connection as part of the studio. I am not a paid editor, I am part of the company. You can see it here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Michael.j.schwartz#Ave_Fenix_Pictures and here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Michael.j.schwartz
I even went as far as when introducing myself that the studio hired an editor, believing that was the best option because we did not understand the platform, but we had no idea that the editor worked without following the rules. Once learning and abiding, I stated that I cannot edit my own articles: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:There%27sNoTime/Archive_13, ("Ave Fenix Pictures" section)
I think the connection that I have with the company has been clear since I entered the platform, I can send supporting documentation if Wikipedia requests it.--Michael.j.schwartz —Preceding undated comment added 18:56, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you are editing on behalf of your company then you are deemed to be a paid editor, but what ever, the AFd will decide whether to keep the article or not. Theroadislong (talk) 19:40, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What reliable sources can be added for an academic journal?

Hi Theroadislong

You have rejected my article titled 'Nature Environment and Pollution Technology' which is about an academic journal in the field of Environmental Science. You have stated the reason as it should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources, not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed. This is important so that the article can meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy and the notability of the subject can be established.

As this article is about an academic journal i have added its inclusion in Scopus which is one of the notability factor in its field. What other independent sources do you expect for a scientific journal? Should i add some more references to other databases where it is included like the proquest, EBSCO, Index Copernicus etc. Or should i add references to its most cited articles? Please help me what kind of references do you expect for an academic journal. Regards

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:FeetRhythmic/sandbox I had submitted this article based on independent media websites such as Economic Times (India's number 1 financial newspaper), Bangalore Mirror (city publication of India's No 1 media house Times of India) and Hindu Businessline (one of the oldest newspapers in India) and other reputed corporate websites such as Red Herring . They no linkage with any other business including HiFives except for being a source of information. All the sources of information are independent and verifiable. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FeetRhythmic (talkcontribs) 07:22, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

FeetRhythmic Your draft was declined because it reads like an advertisement, articles need to be written in a neutral encyclopedic tone, please also read WP:REFB for help with correctly formatting your sources. Theroadislong (talk) 07:31, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

for rejecting

whats problem in it — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shrey2006 (talkcontribs) 09:44, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft Draft:Shrey Shah was rejected because you are not notable in Wikipedia's terms. Wikipedia doesn’t encourage people writing autobiographies, if you are notable somebody unconnected with you will write one eventually, but most of us are not notable enough. Galerie Richard

Hello Theroadislong. I thought the list of artists at Galerie Richard valuable information that should be preserved. The list is on the gallery website here http://www.galerierichard.com/en_artists.php So if you dont mind, I will reinstate it and cite that page. Hope that is agreeable to you. Valueyou (talk) 07:04, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I don't agree. The article is already VERY poorly sourced and promotional, I don't see any value in having a long list of non notable artists sourced to their own website. Theroadislong (talk) 07:16, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK then. Valueyou (talk) 07:21, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Roman Retzbach

I did corrections after talk with my mentor: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:YvesMe/Roman_Retzbach YvesMe (talk) 10:41, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You need to edit the actual article here Roman Retzbach adding reliable independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 10:54, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

So I'm allowed to do corrections on the main site, please?! --YvesMe (talk) 12:01, 25 June 2020 (UTC) Thanks Theroadislong, so I will do! --YvesMe (talk) 12:02, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I changed it now also on the main page. Thanks The Road is long, Yves YvesMe (talk) 15:39, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support and opinion The RoadisLong! YvesMe (talk) 08:53, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Theroadislong, can you get my mentor or suggest me someone to improve my work, please?!YvesMe (talk) 09:34, 30 June 2020 (UTC)

I've listed 4 non-fiction books demanded as recommanded. Is it now ok? Can you change your decision, opinion, ...not to delete please?! Can I ask you again to get my mentor? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Roman_Retzbach --YvesMe (talk) 10:29, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

YvesMe Listing more books is not required, the article needs independent sources, as far as I can tell ALL the sources are primary at the moment, that is they are connected to him. Creating a new article is the most difficult task on Wikipedia, I would recommend editing existing articles for an extended period before trying again, to get a feel for how it works. It is not my decision to delete or not delete, that will be decided by an admin, when the WP:AFD is closed. Theroadislong (talk) 10:53, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, you are so right. Better start easier. YvesMe (talk) 11:47, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hugh Victor Duke

Dear Theroadislong,

Re: Hugh Victor Duke

Thank you for you and colleagues' comments about my article recently submitted to Wikipedia. Please can you kindly advise me what I should do now to make the entry acceptable for publication online. I realize that it is probably too long and will happily shorten it, as you seem to suggest. But no one else in the world has this information, so it would be unfortunate if it fails to see the light of day for technical reasons which I am not that conversant with. I doubt that anyone else has the data and certainly not the photos to write such an informative account of this particular brave soldier, one of Britain's esteemed (no less than by the State and King George VI himself) war heroes of the 2nd World War.

With many best wishes,

Hugh

The article should be limited to a summary of what independent sources have said about him. Wikipedia has no interest in what you or I know about a subject. If there are no published sources for the content, then it doesn't belong on Wikipedia, please also note that Wikipedia is not a venue for memorials, see WP:NOTMEMORIAL. Hempress Sativa

Hi there,

I drafted the Wikipedia page for HEMPRESS SATIVA, which you have rejected as it does not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject.

Whilst I agree that this is true of the YouTube pages which I've mentioned, any other references are from independent reliable websites, blogs, newspapers, so i'm not sure why they've been rejected. Are there particular ones which need to change?

Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheBalticCount (talkcontribs) 14:42, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

TheBalticCount Your draft has been declined NOT rejected. You have used quite a few interviews which are not considered reliable, neither are most blogs. Wikipedia cannot be used as a source, and the assorted videos don't contribute to any notability, the artist would need to pass the criteria at WP:NMUSICIAN and it's not clear how they do yet? Why wasn’t my article published Danz33y official (talk) 13:37, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Danz33y official Because it only consisted of a word that you made up and was not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Theroadislong (talk) 13:43, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please review my page Gaurav8D pixer (talk) 09:06, 29 June 2020 (UTC) I reviewed it and tagged it as a hoax the infobox and the draft article appear to be about two different people, and was clearly copied and pasted in part from another article. George Cazenove draft page

Hi - Thank you SO much for getting back to me. I have removed all words 'famous' as requested. Is there anything further I can do to get the page live?

George Cazenove draft page

Hi - I have removed all the words I think you wanted removed.

Please can you advise what you mean by not using external links?

Thank you so much for your help!

External links like these [2] [3] [4], [5], [6] do not belong in article space, they might be suitable for conversion to references though. Theroadislong (talk) 13:32, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. What I don't understand is that these links are evidence of the claims made in the wikipedia article. How else can I use them to prove the points made? Arganflu (talk) 14:38, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You can make them references instead. Theroadislong (talk) 14:41, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. How do I do that please? Arganflu (talk) 16:04, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
