Request re: Controversy and History

Hi all! I am back with a request on behalf of Accenture as part of my work with Beutler Ink.

An IP editor recently created a Controversy section by moving existing content about a past contract with the UK National Health Service and adding a new sentence about 2012 taxes in the UK. As I have in the past (see above), I wanted to ask editors their opinion whether a Controversy section is appropriate and if these details could be moved into the History instead? I see that the editor who made the addition is ok with the general idea of disbanding the Controversy section and moving content elsewhere in the article, so long as a mention of the tax issue is kept somewhere. They did raise a good point about the existing subsection headings under History not seeming like a natural fit for these details, so I wondered if it would make sense to tweak the two headquarters-related headings? Perhaps:

  • 2000s: Bermuda headquarters
  • 2010s: Ireland headquarters and recent history

Dormskirk: I'm wondering what you think since you are a frequent editor here. I have a conflict of interest since this request is made on behalf of Accenture as part of my work with Beutler Ink. Thanks in advance! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 20:08, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

July 2019 update request

Hi all! Again, I am back with some updates on behalf of Accenture as part of my work with Beutler Ink.

Julie Sweet

Recently, there have been a couple of edits regarding Julie Sweet's announcement as CEO. As the details have been muddled a bit in the article, I wanted to clarify here: she does not take the post until September 1, 2019, so prior to that date could be called "CEO designate" if editors prefer.

Also, in the introduction her name is currently spelled incorrectly: I suggest fixing to:

  • Julie Sweet
Infobox

The Services parameter was edited a few months ago. I suggest changing this to reflect Accenture's five business divisions: Strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations[1]

Introduction

The following sentence is outdated:

Accenture's current clients include 95 of the Fortune Global 100 and more than three-quarters of the Fortune Global 500.

I suggest updating this sentence to:

  • Accenture's current clients include 92 of the Fortune Global 100 and more than three-quarters of the Fortune Global 500.[2]
Awards

There is new recognition from Ethisphere Institute, Fortune, CR Magazine, Forbes, and DiversityInc. Can these be updated?

  • In 2019, Ethisphere Institute recognized Accenture for the 12th time[3]
  • Fortune named Accenture one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For from 2009 to 2019[4]
  • CR Magazine named Accenture No. 23 in its top 100 Best Corporate Citizens list for 2019[5]
  • In 2019, Accenture was ranked No. 248 on the Forbes Global 2000[6]
  • In 2019, the firm was ranked No. 7 in the Top 50 Companies for Diversity by DiversityInc.[7]

Dormskirk: Since you have reviewed my edit requests in the past, I'm wondering what you think. I have a conflict of interest since this request is made on behalf of Accenture as part of my work with Beutler Ink. Thanks in advance! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 15:31, 17 July 2019 (UTC) [reply]

@Dormskirk: Thanks so much for this! It looks like the 2019 recognition as Fortune's most admired Information Technology Services company and the 2018 Global 500 ranking were removed. Not sure if that was accidental, so I wanted to bring it to your attention. Thanks again! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 16:45, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It was accidental. Now sorted, I think. Dormskirk (talk) 17:06, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

February 2020 update request

Hi all! Again, I am back with some updates on behalf of Accenture as part of my work with Beutler Ink.

Infobox
  • Marjorie Magner has retired from the Board of Directors. David Rowland is now the company's Executive Chairman.[1]
Can the chairman be updated in the Key people parameter?
Introduction
  • The following sentence is outdated, as Accenture now reports just "revenues" (as shown correctly in the infobox) – not "net revenues":
In 2019, the company reported net revenues of $43.2 billion, with more than 492,000 employees serving clients in more than 200 cities in 120 countries.
I suggest deleting the word net from the above sentence.
  • Also, the following sentence is outdated:
Accenture's current clients include 92 of the Fortune Global 100 and more than three-quarters of the Fortune Global 500.
The correct total is now 91. I suggest updating to: Accenture's current clients include 91 of the Fortune Global 100 and more than three-quarters of the Fortune Global 500.[2]
Services and operations
  • The following sentence is inaccurate:
Accenture has five verticals:
In a business sense, "verticals" refers to industry sectors. These five entities serve clients across all industries. The bulleted list that follows still makes sense without this sentence. Can "Accenture has five verticals" be deleted?
Marketing, branding and identity
  • The following sentence is outdated:
As of 2018, Interbrand ranked Accenture No. 34 on its list of best global brands.
I suggest updating to: As of 2019, Interbrand ranked Accenture No. 31 on its list of best global brands.[3]
Awards
  • There is new recognition from Fortune. Can this be updated?
In 2020, Fortune magazine named it as the world's most admired Information Technology Services company.[4]

Dormskirk: Since you have reviewed my edit requests in the past, I'm wondering what you think. I have a conflict of interest since this request is made on behalf of Accenture as part of my work with Beutler Ink. Thanks in advance! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 22:02, 26 February 2020 (UTC) [reply]

Request re: services listed in introduction

Hi all! Recent edits by an IP editor replaced the previous wording in the introduction that neutrally summarized Accenture's services. The resulting wording is both inaccurate as it does not reflect Accenture's current services, and is not in line with Wikipedia's guidelines that discourage the use of jargon and capitalized text to describe service types in the introduction. Here's the current problematic wording:

Accenture plc, stylised as accenture, is an Irish-domiciled multinational professional services company that provides services in Management Consulting, Data Science & Analytics, Digital Marketing, Technology Delivery and Operations Outsourcing.

I'd like to ask if editors would consider updating the introduction to fix these issues. As Accenture's service offerings have recently changed, but there's not yet any appropriate sourcing available to confirm the details, I'd like to share a few options here for consideration:

  • Option 1: Simply reverting to the previous wording; while slightly out-of-date it does give a general overview of Accenture's services and meets Wikipedia's standards
  • Option 2: Replacing with the following, which would bring the text up to date with Accenture's current service breakdown: "provides services in strategy and consulting, interactive, technology and operations"
  • Option 3: Remove the specifics about services in the introduction and end the first sentence after "professional services company". Ie. the first sentence would read: Accenture plc, stylised as accenture, is an Irish-domiciled multinational professional services company.

Dormskirk: Since you've reviewed my requests here before, would you be willing to take a look at this? What do you think would be best to do here? Thanks in advance, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 21:25, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - I have gone for option 3 which keeps in simple. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 21:35, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for taking a look at this, Dormskirk. Hope you're keeping well! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 01:29, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

recent history listing of acquisions

As it appears this company is quite active, we should consider consolidating recent history into coherent paragraphs so does not become one long list of acquisitions. Earnsthearthrob (talk) 21:53, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Awards & recognition 2020 update request

Hi all! Once again, I'm here with some updates on behalf of Accenture as part of my work with Beutler Ink. This time I have a few different updates to ask about, so I'm going to break them up into individual requests for ease of review.

First up, the Awards section:

  • The following award is quite minor and I'd like to suggest removing it, in favor of keeping this section focused on notable awards and recognition: Best in KLAS Overall Healthcare Management Consulting Firm
  • The 2019 and 2020 Fortune rankings are not yet included. Please can the following be added:
In 2019, Accenture was ranked No. 298 on the Fortune Global 500 list.[1]
In 2020, Accenture was ranked No. 279 on the Fortune Global 500 list.[1]
Also, would it make sense to remove the earlier rankings when adding these? Or just adding the most recent?
  • The following can be updated: In 2019, Ethisphere Institute recognized Accenture for the 12th time.
I suggest updating this entry to replace 2019 and 12th, to read: In 2020, Ethisphere Institute recognized Accenture for the 13th time.[2]
Please note: the link in the source is the same as the 2019 one but the content has been updated by Ethisphere to the 2020 honorees
  • Similarly, the following can be updated as the link is the same, but now reflects 2020 rankings: Fortune named Accenture one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For from 2009 to 2019.
My proposed update is as follows: Fortune named Accenture one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For from 2009 to 2020.[3]
  • Can the Forbes ranking also be updated or added for 2020?:
In 2020, Accenture was ranked No. 205 on the Forbes Global 2000.[4]
  • Likewise, can the DiversityInc. ranking be updated or added for 2020?:
In 2020, the firm was ranked No. 5 in the Top 50 Companies for Diversity by DiversityInc.[5]

Dormskirk: Wondering if you might have a few moments to take a look at this since you have reviewed my requests here before? For full transparency, confirming I have a conflict of interest since this request is made on behalf of Accenture as part of my work with Beutler Ink. Thanks in advance! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 15:26, 26 August 2020 (UTC) [reply]
