Proto/Praeto/Xenomorphs

Does anyone have any RS for referring to David's creation as Proto/Praetomorphs? As the film credits identify it as a Xenomorph (as our on article indicate), I'd be tempted to remove the term to reflect this as it just introduces confusion for the reader.
