Çandarlı Ali Pasha (died December 18, 1406) was the grand vizier of the Ottoman Empire from 1387 until 1406, under sultan Bayezid I and, during the Ottoman Interregnum, Süleyman Çelebi.[1]
As a member of the prominent Çandarlı family, Ali became grand vizier upon the death of his father, grand vizier Çandarlı Halil Pasha the Elder (also known as Çandarlı Kara Halil Hayreddin Pasha), and served as a grand vizier until his death in 1406. He was the brother of future grand vizier Çandarlı Ibrahim Pasha the Elder. Ali Pasha was the commander of the Ottoman troops that conquered most of Bulgaria and Dobruja in 1388 and one of the commanders of the Rumelian sipahis during the Battle of Nicopolis in 1396.
