Daniel Robert Gheesling (born September 1, 1983) is an American reality television personality, YouTube personality and Twitch streamer who appeared on Big Brother 10, which he won. He was also the runner-up of Big Brother 14, behind Ian Terry. He is often considered to be among the greatest Big Brother contestants in the show's history.[1] He is now a gaming live streamer and social media influencer.

Career

Gheesling was a Catholic high school teacher from Dearborn, Michigan.[2] Gheesling taught health at Orchard Lake St. Mary's Preparatory School and was the assistant coach of the school's football team.[3] He started a YouTube gaming channel in 2013.[4] On February 23, 2018, Gheesling became the first person to interview the renowned Ultima Online player known as StraightStupid.[5]

In 2008 Gheesling appeared as a contestant on the 10th season of the American TV series Big Brother. He went on to win $500,000 in the final with a 7-0 unanimous vote.[6][7] He also appeared in season 14, finishing as the runner-up, making him the only Big Brother contestant to have made the Final 2 twice until Paul Abrahamian did it on back to back during seasons (18 and 19).[6][7]

He now makes gaming content on Twitch and YouTube.

Personal life

Gheesling graduated from Divine Child High School and Michigan State University. On July 2, 2011, he married Chelsea Niemiec in Orchard Lake, Michigan. They had their first child, a boy named Desmond Daniel Gheesling, on July 3, 2016.[8] Dan and Chelsea had their second son, named Miles Glen Gheesling on March 13, 2018.[9]
