Roy Edward Campbell, Jr. (born November 19, 1947) is an American priest of the Catholic Church and serves as an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Washington.
Biography
On May 26, 2007, Campbell was ordained to the priesthood. Pope Francis appointed Campbell auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Washington on March 8, 2017.[1][2] On April 21, 2017, Campbell was consecrated as a bishop by Donald Wuerl.[3] On March 21, 2019, Campbell was elected president of the National Black Catholic Congress (NBCC), succeeding John Ricard, the retired bishop of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee.[4]
