Almazna (Ukrainian: Алма́зна, Russian: Алмáзная, romanized: Almaznaya) is a small city in Kadiivka Municipality, Luhansk Oblast of Ukraine. The population of Almazna was estimated to be 4,148 (2022 estimate).[1] Industries within Almazna include metallurgy and manufacturing; a coal mine is also located near the city.[2]
Since 2014, Almazna has been under the effective control of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic.[3]
Geography
Almazna is located 65 km away from Luhansk,[4] and 597.9 km away from Kyiv. The river Komyshuvakha originates on the eastern part of the city, while the river Lomuvatka flows 1 km west of the city. The railway station Stakhanov (formerly known as Almazna) is situated 2 km away from the city.
