The 1960 County Championship was the 61st officially organised running of the County Championship.[1] Yorkshire won their second successive Championship title.
The method of scoring points remained the same but the team with the most points would not automatically be crowned champions because teams played either 28 or 32 matches. Therefore, a final average was calculated by dividing the points by the matches played which determined the final placings.[2]
