Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative is an electric utility cooperative headquartered in Bastrop, Texas. Founded in 1939, Bluebonnet is one of Texas’ oldest electric cooperatives.

Service area

Bluebonnet’s service area stretches from Travis County to Washington County and from Milam County to Gonzales County. Bluebonnet currently serves over 90,000 meters and owns and maintains more than 11,000 miles of power lines, which are located across 3,800 square miles within 14 southeastern Texas counties.

Management

Overseen by an eleven-member board of directors, the cooperative’s day-to-day operations are led by general manager/CEO Matt Bentke.
