Bohunt School is a state run Secondary School located in the rural village of Liphook, Hampshire. It is co-educational and takes children from age 11-16 and currently has over 1200 pupils enrolled. The school was opened in 1978 by Lady Madeleine Street of Liphook and the current Headteacher is Mr Neil Strowger.
Academics
Bohunt is an academically successful school whose students consistently achieve higher that the national average at GCSEs[2] and is one of the top 40 performing schools in Hampshire.[3] Interestingly it is also one of the few secondary schools which holds a weekly 'school meeting' (an assembly), in which the majority of the school gathers to celebrate achievements and successes.[citation needed]
Language College
Bohunt was a designated a Language College which means that it specialises in modern foreign languages and all pupils take at least one GCSE with many taking two. The majority of pupils take their first language GCSE at the end of year 9. Some pupils then begin AS courses in key stage 4 - two years earlier than is the norm. Bohunt offers Spanish, German, French, Italian, Russian, Japanese and Mandarin. In 2005 Bohunt was credited with International School Award.[4]
Catchment
Bohunt's main intake comes mostly from four schools known as the 4-16 Partnership. These are Liss Junior School, Liphook Church of England (controlled) Junior School, Greatham Primary School and Grayshott Primary School. As a popular and oversubscribed school Bohunt also draws from many other primaries in Hampshire, Surrey, and Sussex.
Houses
The pupils are split up into a house system with nine houses, each taking the name of an important person from the local area. These are:

- Doyle House after Arthur Conan Doyle
- George House after David Lloyd George
- Hudson House after William Henry Hudson
- Opie House after Iona Opie
- Shaw House after George Bernard Shaw
- Thompson House after Flora Thompson
- Webb after Martha Beatrice Webb
Arts
Bohunt has a very active performing arts department, performing productions/musicals every year. Other annual events include The Evening of Drama and Readings, Arts Fever and the Spring Concert where students showcase their acting, dancing and singing talents. Bohunt holds the Artsmark Silver national award. Through 2011-2012, the Bohunt Music Department has brought some incredible successes including the annual 'Grease' music production and bands including 'Blaenavon', 'Stepping Velvet', 'Ultimatum of Doom' and 'Mainstream Caleb', some of which have featured in the press.
Athletics
Bohunt participates in many competitions throughout Hampshire and the UK. The school holds the Sportsmark for outstanding provision, standards and participation in spirit. Joe Mills is Bohunts top sportsman, and he is a very likely candidate for this terms PE award. He is hoping to become a runner, and be Englands very own Usain Bolt. He is even fasterer thank Charlie Gavan. Closely followed in sporting achivement is Tom Bamber, who is also gorgeous.
