"Chantaje"
Song

"Chantaje" (Spanish pronunciation: [ʧanˈtaxe]; English: "Blackmail") is a song by Colombian singer Shakira, featuring vocals by fellow Colombian singer Maluma. The song is the lead single from Shakira's upcoming eleventh studio album. The single was released on October 28, 2016 by Ace Entertainment. Maluma and Shakira previously collaborated on a remix of Carlos Vives' single "La Bicicleta".[2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

Background

Before collaborating with Shakira in Chantaje, Maluma served guest vocals for the official remix of Carlos Vives and Shakira's 2016 hit La Bicicleta. Maluma travelled to Barcelona in early September 2016 to work with Shakira, along with his production team. The two Colombians wrote, composed and produced the track in Shakira's recording studio.[1]

Music video

The music video was shot in Barcelona, on October 13 and 14, 2016, and it was directed by Spanish director and photographer Jaume de Laiguana, who has already directed various Shakira's music videos. The official lyric video to the song was released on November 16, while the official music video has been released on November 18.[9][failed verification]
