The second series of City Homicide, an Australian Police procedural drama television series, began on 30 June 2008 on the Seven Network. The season concluded on 29 March 2009 after 22 episodes.[1][2]

The second series aired Mondays 8:30pm and Sundays 8:30pm in Australia and averaged 1.506 viewers. The season was released on DVD as a six disc set under the title of City Homicide: Series Two on 29 June 2010.[3]

But when it is revealed that the two deaths are connected and that the heroin was attained from the same source, and laced with another agent, Homicide and the Drug Squad reluctantly team up to try and solve the murders.

Two criminals, one paroled who helped the other escape, go gunning for one of the Homicide Team in revenge for the death of their daughter. While the detective is fighting for his life in hospital the rest of the team race the clock trying to apprehend the felons before the case is taken away from them by major crime. Meanwhile the Superintendent's travel plans are aborted when she is suspended and investigated by the Office for Professional Misconduct.

Waverley on the other hand is at the mercy of the Office of Police Standards… who finally reveal their hand.

Superintendent Bernice Waverley is determined to prove she's being framed. But she can't do it alone. Will the team risk their positions in Homicide to help?

It will change her forever. A psychiatrist is stabbed to death at his practice. Who did it? A colleague, a patient, or was it a random act? Getting hard evidence against a likely suspect is proving tough for Simon and Matt. But their case will take a backseat as Stanley and Jarvis rally everyone to help with the hunt for Josh. Today the final pieces of a well thought out plan fall into place. Bernice Waverley will be held accountable for her past actions, and it will change her forever.
