Cloverlea is a suburb of Palmerston North, New Zealand.

Location, population and features

The suburb is located north east of Highbury, north west of Palmerston North Hospital Area and north of Takaro. In 2001, Cloverlea had a resident population of 2,124.[1]

Cloverlea, like Milson, is characterised by its fairly recent suburban developments. Also like Milson, the main part of the suburb is north of the North Island Main Trunk Line. The Palmerston North Railway Station was moved to Cloverlea.

Cloverlea School serves the suburb. There is also a Kindergarten, conveniently near the School, as well as a General store.

Local and Central Government representation

  • Cloverlea is a part of the Takaro Ward in the Palmerston North City Council. It shares this with other suburbs: Takaro, Highbury and Westbrook.
  • Cloverlea is a part of Palmerston North electorate, currently held by Labour MP, Iain Lees-Galloway.
