The Dignity and Truth Platform Party (Romanian: Partidul Platforma Demnitate și Adevăr, PPDA) is a centre-right political party in Moldova, led by Andrei Năstase, a lawyer and former prosecutor. It established in December 2015 as a result of the long-term anti-government demonstrations. The party calls for a complete change of the current political class and reset of the political system. The Party became an Observer Member of the European People's Party in 2017.
History
On February 24th, 2015, an initial group that consisted of 14 people (journalists, analytics, and social activists) announced the creation of the civic movement called Dignity and Truth Platform. The purpose of this movement was to supervise government activity. Since April, the Platform has organized numerous meetings where people have expressed their dissatisfaction with the government. Almost one year after the protests, the leaders of the Platform decided to create a new political party, an alternative to the present parties controlled by oligarchs.
Ideology
The party leadership has expressed opposition to the "oligarchic mafia government" of Vladimir Plahotniuc. They support early elections to form the authentic pro-EU reformist government.[4]
