The British Royal Family & More
[edit]Queen Elizabeth II & Prince Phillip Mountbatten-
[edit]The Queen's maternal grandparents, the Earl and Countess of Strathmore, lived in Mayfair, London, and were the owners of 17 Bruton Street, where she was born at 2.40 in the morning on April 21, 1926. The Duke and Duchess of York, who went on to become King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, had her as their first child. On May 29, of that year, she was baptized Elizabeth Alexandra Mary at Buckingham Palace. The Princess's early years were spent in White Lodge in Richmond Park and 145 Piccadilly, the London home her parents had seized soon after she was born. She also visited the residences of her mother's parents, the Earl and Countess of Strathmore, which included Glamis Castle in Angus, Scotland, and St. Paul's Walden Bury in Hertfordshire, as well as the homes of her paternal grandparents, King George V and Queen Mary, which included Windsor Castle, Balmoral Castle, and Sandringham House. Princess Margaret Rose, the sister of Princess Elizabeth, was born in 1930. The four members of the family were close. Princess Elizabeth's parents acquired Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park as their own country residence when she was six years old. She received her own modest cottage, Y Bwthyn Bach (the Little Cottage), in the grounds of Royal Lodge as a gift from the Welsh people on her sixth birthday in 1932. As with many other girls from aristocratic households at the period, Princess Margaret and Princess Elizabeth received their education at home. In anticipation of her future role, Princess Elizabeth began studying constitutional history and law after her father succeeded to the throne in 1936, making her the heir presumptive (first in line to the throne). Her father paid her education, and she also attended classes with Eton Vice-Provost Henry Marten. The Archbishop of Canterbury also instructed her in religious matters. French and Belgian governesses were among the people who taught Princess Elizabeth the language. This ability has proven beneficial for The Queen, especially during her visits to French-speaking nations including Canada.[1]
Elizabeth acceded to the throne at the young age of 25. Her Majesty's working life was mostly occupied by travel, both domestically and abroad. "There is none of my father's subjects from the oldest to the youngest whom I do not wish to greet," she had declared prior to ascending to the throne. She traveled to every realm and every part of the United Kingdom during her reign, often visiting them more than once. Even though Her Majesty's working life consisted primarily of correspondence with her ministers and representatives in the UK and Commonwealth, the people who lived there derived the greatest significance from her many formal visits. Throughout the majority of her career, The Queen was supported by The Duke of Edinburgh, who traveled with her both domestically and abroad and stood at her side for all official engagements, including the State Opening of Parliament, State Visits, and yearly Remembrance ceremonies. While performing her duties as Queen, Her Majesty reared four children, and later the Royal Family welcomed grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During her reign, the Duke of Edinburgh served as her "strength and stay," in her own words, while other members of the Royal Family provided crucial assistance through their work in the UK and abroad, including going on numerous engagements and tours with her or handling tasks on her behalf. The Prince of Wales went with her to Commonwealth Heads of Government meetings and the State Opening of Parliament in her final years.[2]
Over the course of their 73-year marriage, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip welcomed four children together: Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Princess Anne, and King Charles III.[3]
Elizabeth has been known as the Queen of the United Kingdom, the Queen of Canada, Queen of Australia, Queen of New Zealand, Queen of Jamaica, Queen of Barbados, Queen of the Bahamas, Queen of Grenada, Queen of Papua New Guinea, Queen of the Solomon Islands, Queen of Tuvalu, Queen of Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and Grenadines, Queen of Belize, Queen of Antigua and Barbuda, and Queen of Saint Kitts and Nevis.[4]
King Charles III & Princess Diana Spencer-
[edit]Charles and Diana met in November of 1977, while Charles was dating her sister Sarah. In February of 1978 Sarah told the press she wasn't willing to settle down with Charles so the couple broke up, but the two sisters stayed in Charles circle. In September of 1980 Diana and Charles secret relationship was revealed by a photographer. In February of 1981 Charles proposed to Diana in the Windsor Castle. The couple was engaged until July 29th, 1981 when they were married in Westminster. In June of 1982 the couple had their first child Prince William, It is reported that during this time Diana was experiencing postpartum depression. In 1984 the couple had their second child Prince Harry. In 1986 the couple was very unhappy and they were both having extra marital affairs. Charles also admitted to his biographer that he started seeing Camilla Parker-Bowles. In December 1992 the prime minister John Major announces the couples split. In August of 1996 the couple the couple official divorced, and Diana was stripped of her title. A year after the official divorced Diana was killed in a car crash in Paris.[5]
Carole Goldsmith & Michael Middleton-
[edit]Pippa Middleton & James Matthews-
[edit]Arthur, Grace, & Rose Matthews-
[edit]On October 15, 2018, Pippa and James Matthews welcomed Arthur Michael William Matthews into the world. At 1:58 p.m. local time, he was born at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in London, where Princess Kate and Prince William welcomed welcoming their three children, When Arthur was born he weighed 8 lbs., 9 oz. The Prince and Princess of Wales, who were once the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, became uncle and aunt for the first time with Arthur's birth. The next day, the couple declared their happiness for the new family in a statement. Along with being named after his grandfather, the newborn also became Michael and Carole Middleton's fourth grandchild. Michael, Arthur's middle name, is the name of Matthews' brother who passed away in 1999 while climbing Mount Everest at the age of 22, as well as Pippa's father. Pippa revealed shortly after giving birth that her boy already enjoyed being active. She stated in Waitrose Kitchen magazine, “Starting my son Arthur swimming at four months old has given him confidence and enjoyment in water,” At six months old, swimming is one of our most cherished pastimes. His digestion has improved and the exercise helps ensure restful naps during the day. In Waitrose Weekend, she also wrote that when he grew in mobility, they would go to their neighborhood baby gym. “Arthur burns lots of energy in this safe environment and learns many physical skills,” she said. “I have also noticed him building his confidence with each visit." As her baby grew into a toddler, Pippa said he really enjoyed being outside. In her essay for HOKA, she stated, "Being such an active family has rubbed off on my son — he loves nothing more than running wild in the woods, parks and fields with our two dogs,”[6]
The first person to confirm Pippa and Matthews' second child's pregnancy was Carole. In an interview with Good Housekeeping U.K. in December 2020, she made a clue about her upcoming delivery when she said, "I hope to see more of my family than I could last year, including, of course, my new grandchild." Grace Elizabeth Jane, Pippa and Matthews' first daughter and second child, was born on March 15, 2021, at St. Mary's Hospital in London. She weighed six pounds, seven ounces at birth, at 4:22 a.m. local time. Grace became the fifth grandchild of Carole and Michael, joining older brother Arthur, who was two years old at the time. Grace's middle names pay tribute to her two sets of grandparents. Elizabeth honors Pippa's mother, Carole Elizabeth Middleton, while Jane honors Matthews' mother, Jane Matthews. Kate's middle name is Elizabeth. According to a source close to the pair, "the Duke and Duchess are absolutely overjoyed by the happy news" regarding the birth.[6]
In June 2022, Pippa and Matthews welcomed Rose, their daughter, as their third child. When Pippa flaunted her baby bulge in a vibrant green dress for the 2022 "Party at the Palace" concert in honor of Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee, word of her pregnancy spread. Rose was the sixth grandchild of the Middletons, and according to NameBerry, her name came in at number 68 among baby girl names in England for 2021. The Latin word "rosa," which means "flower," is the source of her name. In addition, June's birth flower is the rose. The young child shares a sweet bond with the daughter of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who also has a name inspired by flowers. The infant daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is known as Princess Lilibet. [6]

[edit]George has only had two titles in his life time he was "of Cambridge" and is now Prince of Wales, Charlotte has had one title being Princess of Wales, Louis has also only had one title that title being Prince of Wales.[7]
The eldest child of Prince William and Catherine Middleton, is Prince George born on July 22nd 2013. George is second in line for the British throne, behind his father. Prince George is the elder brother of Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte of Wales, and is the grandson of King Charles III.[9]

Prince William and Catherine Middleton's daughter Princess Charlotte, is their only daughter and second child. Following Princess Charlotte's birth, William told the BBC, "She has been a little joy of heaven." From an early age, she accompanied her parents on royal engagements. At the age of sixteen months, they took her on a week-long trip to Canada. She has also been in the forefront of some of the most significant family occasions, such as the state funeral for Queen Elizabeth and the coronation of her grandpa, King Charles.[10]

Lilibet of Sussex & Archie of Sussex-
[edit]Lilibet and Archie have only held one title the title being Prince & Princess. [7]
With two incredibly cute kids, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are proud parents. While they were still senior members of the royal family, the couple, who was married in May 2018, welcomed their first child, son Archie Harrison, in 2019. They left their jobs in January 2020 and later relocated to Santa Barbara, California, where they became parents to Lilibet "Lili" Diana in June 2021. Although they no longer use their titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex in daily life or when representing the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan still hold these titles. Rather, Harry and Meghan are concentrating on projects like their philanthropic work with the Archewell Foundation, where they promote women's empowerment, equal access to education, and the fight against racial inequality. Despite the fact that Harry and Meghan's living in California at home with their children is more laid-back than their former royal duties, the Duke of Sussex has acknowledged that raising two children is "definitely a juggle."Since Archie and Lili were the monarch's great-grandchildren, they were not given the titles of prince and princess at birth. Even though Archie was born with the "courtesy title" of Earl of Dumbarton, his parents decided not to bestow it upon him at that time. In the past, Meghan said to Oprah Winfrey that if Archie had been given a title at birth, it would have provided him with stability and "meant he was going to be safe." She added, "And it's not our decision to make." "Even though I have a lot of clarity of what comes with the titles, good and bad ... that is their birthright to then make a choice about." Archie and Lili were bestowed with the titles of prince and princess upon their grandfather, King Charles. In March 2023, the children's new titles of Prince Archie Harrison and Princess Lilibet Diana were added to the royal family's official website. When Harry and Meghan decided to choose Sussex as their family surname in February 2024, Archie and Lili's names were modified once more. They are now formally known as Princess Lilibet of Sussex and Prince Archie of Sussex. Harry expressed his goal for his kids to have a deep bond with the royal family in his biography Spare. "I've said before that I've wanted a family, not an institution — so of course, I would love nothing more than for our children to have relationships with members of my family, and they do with some, which brings me great joy," Harry told PEOPLE in January 2023. Harry expressed his gratitude for being a father to Good Morning America one month later. "The children are maturing like all children do—quite quickly. Every day they keep us grounded and make us laugh; they both have such a great sense of humor," he said to the publication. Here's all you need to know about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's two children, from the birth of their first child to their laid-back lifestyle in California.[13]
Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor, better known as Prince Archie of Sussex, was born in London, England, on May 6, 2019. He is Harry and Meghan's first child. Just moments after the baby was born, Meghan said of her son, "He has the sweetest temperament." "He's really calm." Meghan then disclosed that the pair considered naming their kid Harrison, but ultimately settled on Archie, which is a shortened form of the name Archibald, which denotes sincerity, boldness, or bravery. Harrison was instead given his second name, which is a patronymic that dates back to the second Ages and means "son of Henry" or "son of Harry." Archie traveled to South Africa with his parents when he was just 4 months old, and it was then that he met Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a campaigner against apartheid. Later on in the trip, Meghan revealed that there was a fire in the nursery where Archie was sleeping. The couple was "shaken" by the occurrence, but they had to leave their son right away for another scheduled engagement. Harry and Meghan announced shortly after the trip that they would be dividing their time between the United Kingdom and North America and resigning from their official obligations. Harry thought back to how his own mother's experience raising children in the public eye made his decision to resign from his royal duties in order to concentrate on being a parent all the more important. "My mother would be very proud of me, I'm sure of it." In his co-created docuseries The Me You Can't See, Harry stated, "I'm living the life that she wanted to live for herself, living the life that she wanted us to be able to live." "I am aware that she has assisted me in getting here in addition to the fact that she is immensely proud of me. And throughout the past year, I've sensed her presence more than ever before." Harry also disclosed on the show that Archie's nursery had a photo of Princess Diana hanging in it and that "grandma" was one of his first words, following "mama," "papa," and "crocodile." Along with their baby, Harry and Meghan are stressing the value of moral character. "My son Archie's dream job when he grows up is to be a pilot, obviously a helicopter pilot," he said at the opening of the 2022 Invictus Games, an international athletic competition for sick, injured, and wounded veterans and service members. "But what I remind him is that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it's your character that matters most, and nothing would make his mum and me prouder than to see him have the character of what we see before us today." In August 2022, Meghan repeated similar stance in an interview with The Cut. "We tell him that a man is made of his manners." "Manners, manners, manners, manners," she said. The goal of the Sussexes' campaigning and charitable endeavors is to improve the state of the globe. To be asked what he wanted his kids to grow up to be a better world, Harry said, to be raised in a world that is more equitable, safer, and fairer. Even if it won't be simple, as a parent I will not stop until I have at least attempted to improve their lot in life." When Archie's younger sister was born, he was two. Meghan mentioned on the Ellen DeGeneres Show that he "loves being a big brother," but there was a learning curve. "Everyone talks about what it's like for the second child, but no one talks about the adjustment for the first child when the second one comes along," she stated.[13]
On June 4, 2021, Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten Windsor—who is currently Princess Lilibet of Sussex—was born in Santa Barbara, California. Lilibet was Queen Elizabeth's childhood nickname, given to her because she had trouble pronouncing "Elizabeth"; Harry and Meghan chose it for sentimental reasons. Harry had a particularly close relationship with the Queen until her death in 2022. The couple said on the Archewell Foundation website, "We were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili, on June 4th." "She exceeds our expectations beyond measure, and we are eternally appreciative of the love and well wishes we have received from all around the world. We appreciate your ongoing generosity and help during this very important time for our family." Speaking with Oprah prior to Lili's arrival, Harry and Meghan had already voiced their delight about having a daughter. "To have a boy, then a girl — what more can you ask for?" "Two is it," Harry stated, clarifying that they do not intend to have any more children. Meghan released The Bench, her first children's book, a few days after Lili was born. Her inscription said, "For the man and the boy who make my heart go pump-pump." The book also includes a kind homage to Lili: in the last picture, Meghan is depicted as a woman standing in a garden holding a baby in a sling, while Harry and Archie sit nearby feeding chickens. The Sussexes' 2021 holiday card featured the first glimpse of newborn Lili that the world has ever seen. "We brought our daughter Lilibet into the world this year, 2021. Lili created a family for us, and Archie gave us a "Mama" and a "Papa," Harry and Meghan wrote. The entire family traveled to England in June 2022 to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Lili visited her grandfather Prince Charles for the first time, as well as her great-grandmother. It was said that Prince Charles had a "emotional" encounter with his granddaughter. Additionally, the family had a backyard lunch at Frogmore Cottage, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex' official royal residence, to commemorate her first birthday. Harry and Meghan quickly followed with the release of Lili's first photo, revealing a peek of her father's red hair. Lili appeared in the Netflix documentaries on her parents as well. In the video, Harry cuddled up to young Lilibet on her father's lap and read her a story while some of the family's dogs watched on. Over a compilation of their children's films and pictures, Harry remarked, "The most important thing for the two of us is to make sure that we don't repeat the same mistakes that perhaps our parents made." "There's so much I think from anyone's childhood that you bring with you into the present," Meghan said. "Especially when you're the product of divorce." Tyler Perry made an appearance on the last episode of Harry & Meghan, revealing that he is Lili's godfather. When Harry and Meghan first asked, the Hollywood director claimed he was "absolutely honored," but he later changed his mind and decided he didn't want to take part in an official royal ceremony. "I called them back and go, 'Uh, hold on a second — does this mean we gotta go over [to the U.K.] and do all of that in church with [the royal family] and figure all that out? 'Cause I don't wanna do that,'" stated Perry. "'Maybe we can do a little private ceremony here [in the U.S.] and let that be that, and if you have to do it there, then that's okay.' On March 3, 2023, Lili was baptized in a private ceremony at Harry and Meghan's Montecito, California, residence by Los Angeles' Archbishop, the Rev. John Taylor. About thirty people were in attendance, according to a source who spoke with PEOPLE. Among them were Tyler Perry, Lilibet's godfather, Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, and an unidentified godmother.[13]
