Eritrea at the 2016 Summer Olympics

Eritrea is scheduled to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This will be the nation's fifth consecutive appearance at the Olympics.
Athletics
Eritrean athletes have so far achieved qualifying standards in the following athletics events (up to a maximum of 3 athletes in each event):[1][2]
- Men's 5000 m – 2 quota places (Abrar Osman, Aron Kifle)
- Men's 10000 m – 2 quota place (Abrar Osman, Nguse Amlosom)
- Men's marathon – 3 quota places
Cycling
Road
Eritrea has qualified one rider in the men's Olympic road race by virtue of his top 4 national ranking in the 2015 UCI Africa Tour.[3]
