Falling Skies is an upcoming science fiction television series created by Robert Rodat and Steven Spielberg for TNT. The first season will feature ten episodes.[1] The show is produced by DreamWorks Television, with Steven Spielberg acting as an executive producer. Falling Skies is set to premiere on Sunday, June 19, 2011, at 9 p.m. with a two-hour pilot episode.[2]

In May 2009, TNT announced that it had ordered to pilot an untitled alien invasion project. Robert Rodat wrote the pilot episode from an idea which was co-conceived by Rodat and Steven Spielberg.[3] In January 2010, TNT ordered a 10-episode first season,[1] which is set to premiere in June 2011.[2]

TNT's website offers a web-comic based on the series.[4] A web-comic is released every two weeks.
