Gleb Savchenko (Template:Lang-ru; born 16 September 1983) is a Russian dancer and choreographer, and is currently a professional dancer on Dancing with the Stars. He has previously appeared on the UK, Australian, and Russian versions of the show. In 2016, he appeared on Celebrity MasterChef.

Personal life

Savchenko was born in Moscow. He began dancing at 8 years old.[1]

Savchenko is married to professional dancer, Elena Samodanova, and they have a daughter, Olivia.[2]

Dancing with the Stars

In 2012, Savchenko was a professional on the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars where he partnered Erin McNaught for the twelfth series. He appeared as a professional on the US version of Dancing with the Stars in 2013, where he partnered Lisa Vanderpump for the sixteenth series. The couple finished in 10th place. In 2015, Savchenko was a professional on the Russian version of Dancing with the Stars, Танцы со звездами where he partnered Adelina Sotnikova, before returning to the U.S. in 2016 to compete on season 23 of the show. He was partnered with singer and actress Jana Kramer and finished in fourth place.

Strictly Come Dancing

In 2015, Savchenko became a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing for its thirteenth series. He was partnered with television presenter, Anita Rani. They were eliminated during the semi-finals of the competition, finishing in fifth place.

Savchenko announced he will not be returning to Strictly Come Dancing in 2016, saying he wants to spend more time with his wife and daughter.[4]
