Golden Prairie is a village within the Rural Municipality of Big Stick No. 141, in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. The village had a population of 30 in the 2016 Canada Census, (a -14.3% decrease from 35 in the 2011 Canada Census).

Economy

The village has a grain elevator with producer car loading facility, curling rink and restaurant. It holds the seat to the Rural Municipality of Big Stick No. 141 office.

Climate

Golden Prairie experiences a semi-arid climate (Köppen climate classification BSk) with long, cold, dry winters and short but very warm summers. Precipitation is low, with an annual average of 342mm, and is concentrated in the warmer months.
