The International Confederation of Labor (ICL) is a global union confederation consisting of trade unions with anarcho-syndicalist and/or revolutionary-syndicalist origins[1]. The ICL was founded in May 2018 in Parma, with participants from sixteen nations and regions participating in the founding of the ICL[1]. Most of the membership of the international are former members of the International Workers' Association (IWA-AIT), which split in 2016[2].

Focus

The ICL focuses primarily on the exchange of knowledge between its member unions concerning new organizing tactics and strategies[3]. For instance the organizing of "wildcat strikes, road blockades and other imaginative acts of resistance"[4]. Specifically the experience of the prison strike organized by the Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee (IWOC) of the IWW is mentioned. At this point the ICL is also looking to expand its membership base to include the Middle East, Central- and South America and North Africa.[5]
