KPRO (1570 AM) is a radio station that had most-recently broadcast a Christian radio format. It is licensed to Riverside, California, United States, and the station served the Riverside-San Bernardino area. The station is owned by Impact Radio, Inc. and featured programming from CNN Radio and Westwood One.[1]
The station aired mainly religious and other time-brokerage programs. It had played Southern gospel music during music segments from 5 am - 2 pm, and black gospel music during music segments from 2 pm - 5 am. Live sporting events from the Los Angeles Dodgers and the men's basketball program at the University of California, Riverside aired on KPRO. Due to time-brokerage commitments, Dodgers game broadcasts from the East Coast and the Midwest were delayed until 7 p.m.
On Friday, August 3, 2018, KPRO went off the air. Declining revenues were cited as the reason for selling the land the station sat on to developers.[2]
History
The station went on the air as KACE in 1958. On October 30, 1986, the station changed its call sign to the current KPRO.[3]
