The Kowloon East geographical constituency is one of the five geographical constituencies in the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It currently elects 5 Members of the Legislative Council using the Hare quota of party-list proportional representation. The constituency corresponds to the today's districts of Wong Tai Sin and Kwun Tong.
History
The constituency was formed since the 1998 legislative election, replacing a number of single-member constituencies in 1995. These were Kowloon East and parts of Kowloon Central in the 1991 election with dual-seat constituency dual vote system and Kowloon Southeast, Kowloon East, and Kowloon Northeast in the 1995 election. From 1985 to 1991, the seats were elected by the electoral colleges composed of the members of the district boards and Urban Council.
Return members
Below are all the members since the creation of the Kowloon East constituency. The number of seats allocated to Kowloon East has been increased from 3 to 4 between 1998 and 2008 due to the enlargement.
