This is a comprehensive list of the awards received by 2NE1, a girl group formed by YG Entertainment in South Korea. Their first extended play, 2NE1 (2009), was received well and spawned the hits "Fire" and "I Don't Care", one of the biggest singles of 2009. It earned 2NE1 many awards and nominations. After initial success in 2009, the group released their first full-length album in 2010, To Anyone. "Clap Your Hands", "Go Away", and "Can't Nobody" were used as promotional singles. In 2011, they came back with the second EP, 2NE1 (2011), which earned 2NE1 many awards and nominations, including Album of the Year, and Song of the Year for the lead single "I Am the Best". They released four singles in 2012 to 2013, including the hits "I Love You" and "Missing You", and released their first full-album in Japan. They released their second full Korean album "Crush" in 2014 with the lead single "Come Back Home", and entered the Billboard 200 chart. In January 2017, they released a farewell song called "Goodbye" for their fans after the announce of their disbandment.
The Golden Disc Awards is a music awards show founded in 1986 that is presented annually by the Music Industry Association of Korea for outstanding achievements in the music industry in South Korea. The Main Prize award (Disk Bonsang) is awarded to up to ten artists by calculating album and digital sales with online vote and a final judgement by the judges of the award ceremony. The Grand Prize award (Disk Daesang) is equivalent Artist/Album of the Year is awarded to the performer of the best full-length album nominated from the Disk Bonsang. Similarly, a Digital Bonsang/Daesang is awarded for Song of the Year.
The Japan Record Awards recognizes outstanding achievements in the Japan Composer's Association in a manner similar to the American Grammy Awards, is major music awards show held annually in Japan. The show airs every New Year's Eve (sometimes December 30) on TBS Japan at 6:30 P.M JST and is hosted by many announcers.
The Melon Music Awards are an annual awards show that calculates only digital sales and online votes. 2NE1 has received 24 nominations and has won 10 times.
The Mnet Asian Music Awards (abbreviated as a MAMA), formerly "M.net KM Music Festival" (MKMF) (1999–2008), is a major K-pop music award show that is held by Mnet Media annually in South Korea. Daesang Award (Grand Prize) is equivalent Artist of the Year. 2NE1 has won the most grand awards in MAMA history with 4 wins (2 Song of the Years, 1 Album of the Year and 1 Artist of the Year)
The Seoul Music Awards is a music awards show founded in 1990 that is presented annually by the Sports Seoul for outstanding achievements in the music industry in South Korea. The Bonsang Awards (Main Prize) is given to the top artists by a combination of online voting, album and digital sales, research, and judglng. The Daesang Award (Grand Prize) is equivalent of Artist of the Year, and is given to the top artist among the Bonsangs.[23]
