List of songs recorded by Nickelback
Nickelback is a Canadian hard rock band from Hanna, Alberta. The band was founded in 1995 by vocalist and guitarist Chad Kroeger, guitarist and vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger and drummer Brandon Kroeger.[1] After the release of debut extended play (EP) Hesher,[2] Nickelback released its debut album Curb in 1996,[3] which featured songwriting credits for all four band members as well as producer Jeff Boyd.[4] The 1998 follow-up The State was written by a combination of Chad and Mike Kroeger, and Ryan Peake.[4]
After signing with Roadrunner Records and bringing in new drummer Ryan Vikedal, Nickelback released its third studio album Silver Side Up in 2001,[5] which credited all four band members equally for songwriting.[4] The band's fourth album The Long Road was released in 2003,[6] special editions of which featured a cover version of Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting", among other bonus tracks previously released as B-sides on the band's singles.[7] Vikedal left the band in early 2005 to be replaced by 3 Doors Down drummer Daniel Adair.[8]
All the Right Reasons, the band's first album with Adair, was released in 2005.[9] The album featured several contributions from guest musicians, including ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons on "Follow You Home" and "Rockstar", while a recording of a guitar solo by deceased Pantera and Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell is included on "Side of a Bullet".[10] A recording of Queen's "We Will Rock You" was released as a B-side to "Photograph", as well as a bonus track on special editions of All the Right Reasons.[11] On 2008's Dark Horse, producers Robert John "Mutt" Lange and Joey Moi were co-credited for songwriting on several songs.[12]
The band's seventh album, 2011's Here and Now, featured songwriting credits for Chad and Mike Kroeger, Peake, and a variety of other contributors, including producer Moi and guest writers Craig Wiseman and The Warren Brothers.[13] In the same year, the band contributed a cover of ZZ Top's "Legs" to the tribute album ZZ Top: A Tribute from Friends.[14] 2014 saw the release of the band's eighth album, No Fixed Address, which again featured a variety of songwriters including Jacob Kasher, Josh Ramsay and David Hodges, as well as a featured artist in the form of rapper Flo Rida on "Got Me Runnin' Round".[15]
