Mount Pleasant is a British comedy-drama created and written by Sarah Hooper. It is one of the few new television comedy series that has been commissioned and aired on a digital only channel Sky1 in 2011 and Sky Living from 2012 onwards.
Premise
The show is about the day-to-day life of the main character Lisa, her husband, parents, as well as neighbours, and colleagues. Each episode is an hour long (including adverts) and takes place in various locations, including the cul-de-sac Lisa lives in, her workplace, local pub The Dog and Dart, and her widowed friend's café. Production
The series is produced by Tiger Aspect Productions for Sky1. It was filmed in Hale, Trafford,[1] Chorlton, Manchester, and at The Sharp Project studio in Newton Heath, Manchester, throughout June 2011. After a successful first series it was re-commissioned for a second series. This is due to air from 15th August, this time on Sky Living..[2]

Future
After the conclusion of the first series, it was announced Mount Pleasant had been recommissioned for a Christmas special and a second series containing nine episodes.[4]
DVD Release
The complete first series of Mount Pleasant will be released on DVD on 13 August 2012.[5]
