The National Basketball Association (NBA) Africa Game 2017 was an exhibition basketball game played on August 5, 2017 in the Ticketpro Dome in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was the second NBA game to take place on the continent of Africa and the first since the NBA Africa Game 2015. The teams involved were Team Africa, featuring NBA players and alumni that were born in or had parents born in Africa, and Team World, featuring NBA players from the rest of the world.[1]

Rosters

  • CAP^ Deng and Sefolosha were the captains for Team Africa.[1]
  • CAP^ Nowitzki and Walker were the captains for Team World.[1]
  • INJ^ Embiid did not play because of injury.[3]

Notes

  1. ^ Capela was born in Switzerland, but his parents are from Angola and Congo.[1]
  2. ^ Deng holds British nationality, but he was born in what is now South Sudan.[1]
  3. ^ Ibaka represents Spain in international competition, but he was born in the Republic of the Congo.[1]
  4. ^ Oladipo was born in the United States, but his father was born in Sierra Leone and his mother in Nigeria.[1][2]
