Old Bethel United Methodist Church is located at 222 Calhoun St., Charleston, South Carolina.[2][3] The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.[1]

The building was originally built at 55 Pitt St. at the corner with Calhoun St. in 1797-1798 for the Bethel Methodist Church congregation. After the congregation finished a new Greek Revival building in the mid-19th century, its existing building from 1797 was no longer needed. The 1797 building was moved to the current location in April 1882 after having been given to the black members of a nearby congregation.

The building was originally a plan meeting house with a simple rectangular plan. The portico with its four fluted columns was added after the building was moved to its present site. The columns have modified Corinthian-type capitals. The galleried interior is plainly finished.
