Princess Anne of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Dowager Duchess of Calabria[1] (née Princess Anne d'Orléans; born 4 December 1938) is the widow of Infante Carlos, Duke of Calabria.[1] She is the third daughter and fifth child[1] of Prince Henri, Count of Paris (1908–1999), Orléanist claimant to the defunct French throne,[2] and his wife Princess Isabelle of Orléans-Braganza (1911–2003).[1]

Life

Marriage

On 12 May 1965, at Dreux, France, Princess Anne married Carlos of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria (1938–2015), one of the two claimants to be Head of the Royal House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.[1][3] The bride wore a Balmain silk gown of Lyonnaise lace, embroidered with fleurs de lys.[4]

Infante Carlos was the son of Infante Alfonso of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke of Calabria (1901–1964) and Princess Alice of Bourbon-Parma (1917–2017). Though they had known each other since childhood, their romantic relationship began in Athens, in 1962, at the wedding of the future King Juan Carlos of Spain to Princess Sophia of Greece, at which Princess Anne was a bridesmaid.[3] The Duke and Duchess of Calabria lived in Spain.[3]

Issue

The Duke and Duchess of Calabria had five children:[1]

  • Princess Cristina Isabella Maria Luisa of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (born 1966 in Madrid) she married Pedro López-Quesada y Fernandez-Urrutia on 15 July 1994. They have two children:
    • Victoria López-Quesada y de Borbón-Dos Sicilias (b. 17 January 1997)
    • Pedro López-Quesada y de Bórbon-Dos Sicilias (b. 1 December 2003)
  • Princess María Paloma Diana Irene of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (b. 5 April 1967 in Madrid) she married Archduke Simeon of Austria on 13 July 1996. They have five children.
  • Prince Pedro, Duke of Calabria (b. 16 October 1968 in Madrid) he married Sofía Landaluce y Melgarejo on 30 March 2001. They have seven children.
  • Princess Inés María Alicia Anna Isabella of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (b. 20 April 1971 in Madrid) she married ile Michele Carrelli Palombi dei Marquis|Marchesi di Raiano on 13 October 2001. They have two daughters:
    • Nobile Teresa Carrelli Palombi dei Marchesi di Raiano (b. 6 September 2003)
    • Nobile Blanca Carrelli Palombi dei Marchesi di Raiano (b. 11 December 2005)
  • Princess Victoria María Aline Carolina of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (b. 24 May 1976 in Madrid) she married Markos Nomikos (b. 1965) on 27 September 2003. They have four children:
    • Anastasios Nomikos (b. 27 May 2005)
    • Ana Nomikos (b. August 2006)
    • Carlos Nomikos (b. 22 September 2008)
    • Simeon Nomikos (b. 20 December 2012)
