The Putna-Vrancea Natural Park (Romanian: Parcul Natural Putna-Vrancea) is a protected area (natural park category V IUCN) situate in Romania, in administrative territory of Vrancea County.[2]

Location

The Natural Park is located in Vrancea Mountains (Eastern Carpathians), in the hydrographical basin of the Putna River, in the north-west part of Vrancea county.

Description

The Putna-Vrancea with an area of 26.503 ha[3] was declared natural protected area by the Government Decision Number 2151 of November 30, 2004 (publisied in Romanian Official Paper (Monitorul Oficial) Number 38 of January 12, 2005)[4] and represents a mountainous area (crevasses, mountain peaks, valleys, canyons, waterfalls, forests, pastures), with a large variety of flora and fauna.
