Rambo is an American surname, variously of French (from Rambeau), German (from Rambow)[1] or Swedish origin (supposedly ramn+bo "raven's nest"), adopted by Peter Gunnarsson Rambo c. 1640, a Swedish settler.[2]
It is now best known from the Rambo franchise, named for protagonist John Rambo from the novel First Blood (1972).
