Rasool Nagar is a small city in Gujranwala District, situated on the bank of the Chenab River in Punjab, Pakistan. The neighboring cities are Alipur Chatha at 8 km and Wazirabad at 40 km apart. “Summer residence of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, is located in this city.[1][2]
The Battle of Ramnagar was fought in this city on 22 November 1848 between British and Sikh forces during the Second Anglo-Sikh War. The British were led by Sir Hugh Gough, while the Sikhs were led by Sher Singh Attariwalla.
Rasul Nagar is situated on Wazirabad-Pindi Bhattian highway which is being upgraded to Express Way (E-3). AA road link connects it with Alipure Chatha the nearest famous city.
