Star Trek Logs is a series of short story anthologies written and edited by Alan Dean Foster based on episodes from Star Trek: The Animated Series. The series was initially published by Ballantine Books from 1974 until 1978, with new printings of all ten volumes continuing until 1996. Foster's adaptations include new story elements which linked each of the stories into a continuous narrative, even when the episodes they were based on did not interconnect or have any serialized plots or characters.

Omnibus Editions

Del Rey released two sets of omnibus editions, first in 1993 which excluded Log Ten, and again in 1996 including all volumes. The 1996 editions were re-released by Random House as part of their discount line in 1998. In 1995, Pocket Books released three volumes of omnibus editions in UK and Australia, with three logs reprinted in the first two volumes and four in the last.[1]

Del Ray reprinted the adaptations in five omnibus volumes, as part of Star Trek's 40th Anniversary celebrations. Included was a serialized essay by Alan Dean Foster.
