The Courthouse of Stavanger

Stavanger District Court (Norwegian: Stavanger tingrett) is a Norwegian Court of Law of First Instance under Gulating Court of Appeal . The District Court is located in Stavanger in Rogaland and covers the municipalities Stavanger, Sola, Randaberg, Kvitsøy, Rennesøy, Finnøy, Strand and Hjelmeland. The Court has 23 judges.

From 1 July 2007, Ryfylke District Court incorporated as part of the Stavanger District Court. In addition to the local authorities that the two courts have already covered Sola municipality, which was previously part of Jæren District Court, entered the court. The municipalities of Sauda and Suldal was in 2008 transferred to Haugaland District Court, and Forsand was transferred to Jæren District Court.[1]

Before this Court only covered Stavanger municipality.
