Swisher International Group is a tobacco company known for producing Swisher Sweets.[1][2]

History

In 1964, Jno. H Swisher & Sons was acquired by American Maize Products.[3] American Maize Products was acquired by Eridania Béghin-Say, a French company, in 1995.[4] Nineteen years later, Swisher International acquired the Drew Estate Tobacco Company.[5] Swisher announced plans to lay off 450 employees in its Jacksonville, Florida facility in 2015.[6] In 2016, the FDA took action against Swisher for violations of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act.[7]
