[edit]

Dear MER-C, unfortunately you messed up by vandalising the original name of this article. Firstly, the surname is FitzGerald, with a capital "G". This family maintains the original tradition of the two conjoined words Fitz (son of ) and the patronymic Gerald. Your oversimplification is akin to turning O'Neill into "Oneill" - it contradicts the customary naming convention. Please revert it. Please also revert the title to include "24th Knight of Kerry". Seneschally

Fixed by moving to "Adrian FitzGerald". Please avoid using loaded terms like "vandalism"; the distinction is subtle for those not familiar with it, and MER-C's move appears to have been made in good faith. Choess 02:04, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Category

[edit]

Per the category, Guidance: "Members of the Roman Catholic Church, either past or present for whom their membership was or is a defining characteristic or related to their notability". Does not apply in this case. BastunBaStun not BaTsun 14:28, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Righto, although one could argue he it is worth inclusion as one of the (relatively) few RC aristos in Ireland. --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 14:30, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also BLP applies to religious categories. One Night In Hackney303 18:29, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say he is publicly stating his religion if he is a knight of Malta! Regards, David Lauder (talk) 18:35, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed! --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 18:41, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, but he's notable for his political activity, not for being a Catholic, which is what the category requires. BastunBaStun not BaTsun 20:15, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough.
Also, how can we save the picture. I hate articles without them. I'll see if I can find one in the album. --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 20:22, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
