operation puerto

[edit]

I didn't want to just add anything because it's a bit of a minefield, but really this article should at least mention Operation Puerto and the Valv.Pitti or no.18 connection. The link to Valverde has been made and/or hinted at across the cycling media, so this page should at least refer to that speculation. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.140.211.130 (talk) 16:16, 9 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

operation puerto 2

[edit]

It is indeed very strange that this article does not mention operacion puerto. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.246.50.79 (talk) 23:02, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GCE status

[edit]

Valverde's team are, or at least were, challenging his suspension. That would indicate that they did not scrap his contract and registration immediately on the issuing of the ban. Do we know for sure that they have done so since? Kevin McE (talk) 21:41, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2010

[edit]

Surely this section is irrelevant seeing as his results from 2010 were annulled? Also, there is only one result there - if we have to keep them, it's best to mention the other results that he cheated other riders out of this year prior to his sanctioning. Valverde results list vs. article subsection

[edit]

I noticed that the palmares of Alejandro Valverde were extracted and turned into a separate listicle. I have not contributed extensively to this Valverde article, but I don't think this is necessarily a good approach to take. In fact, I think it is inappropriate to remove such a large and relevant set of data from a biography that could eventually become a good article. By comparison, observe how the results are treated in the LeMond BLP, where minor results aren't included (comparative example of a result to exclude here could be "6th Vuelta a La Rioja" in Valverde's palmares). Perhaps condensing the results to include only top-3 placings in one-day races and top-5 or top-10 in GC would be a better approach to a results section in the BLP, whilst keeping a full listicle with all valverde's results? Orphaned references in Alejandro Valverde

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Alejandro Valverde's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
