Could someone translate his family name, please? My guess is that means sort of 'son of a brothel'... --Vladko 11:28, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hehe no, "Bardak" means a glass/cup, so Bardakoğlu would translate to "Son of a glass". He would have to be "Genelevoğlu" to be "son of a brothel";)--Kilhan 11:46, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In Bulgarian we use bardak as a slang word for brothel. I guess it had this meaning in Ottoman Turkish. --Vladko 08:07, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
