I am so sick of seeing the bigotry in the united states that sexual abuse is more prevalent in the catholic church. I would like to know if anyone has details about the quote from the movie where she says she is abused by nuns. Was she in a catholic orphanage? Is there any evidence in real life that she was abused? Did the movie creators just through this in? Peppermintschnapps (talk) 03:44, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
answer to request for citation needed in first paragraph
I knew Althea personally since both of us were in that home together at the same time. Her Brother Richard and I lived in the same Dorm. The orphanage no longer exists as an orphanage. The name at the time she lived there was, "The Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphans home." The general operations of the home we quasi military in that all male students were required to participate in J.R.O.T.C. activities. If she said that she was molested, it is quite possible as several of the children who were in that home were molested by it's employee's. I know of 3 people personally, and I'm sure there are other people who knew someone or about the same individuals who were molested. If I remember correctly Althea was a junior or senior in Highschool when she ran away. She had a boyfriend at that time but I will not reveal his name. I also remember the issue in which she was portrayed as a full page centerfold. One of the boys that I was friendly with had managed to secure a copy of Hustler Magazine, and showed it too us. I remember the picture vividly: She was dressed as an Indian squaw, holding a rose that had thorns on it, and there was a drop of blood on her breast from where one of the thorns had punctured her. If this is of any use to the wiki, please feel free to use this as you will. I can't quite figure out how to add this in a manner that fits your format. thank you.
