Drag Race Milestone
[edit]I chose to add Alyssa Edwards' milestone on Drag Race for being considered one of the worst for five consecutive challenges. I found this a rather interesting milestone to set, which is why i included in this article, which contains information about her career. This milestone i would say IS part of her career. However, some users have debated if is essential or not. I would rather keep it in the page, but opinions may be given as to possibly remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asd17 (talk • contribs) 21:18, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
Spin off show
[edit]You know, she's apparently having a spin-off show, http://www.wetpaint.com/network/articles/whoa-rupaul-took-alyssa-edwards-to-the-mtv-movie-awards
─ Fabzzz talk 23:15, 25 April 2013 (UTC)
- Until the show is confirmed beyond RuPaul's twitter, it shouldn't be mentioned. Burnberrytree (talk) 17:18, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
Birth Date
[edit]What about her birthdate? she born in 1979. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Happypillsjr (talk • contribs) 03:12, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
- Source? The article currently says January 16, 1980. I've added a 'citation needed' tag. ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:32, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

Tongue popping merge proposal
[edit]Hi. I suggest that the article tongue popping should be merged into this article, in a dedicated section. The article about "tongue popping" is short and the gesture is mainly associated with Alyssa Edwards (as demonstrated by most of the sources used in the article, where Alyssa Edwards is often mentioned when talking of "tongue popping"). I've tried to look on Google for other sources and still, the majority of them talking about "tongue popping" do so in association with Alyssa Edwards. Of course everything present in tongue popping could be reasonably included in this page. A proposed ==tongue popping== section could look like this (far from definitive):
Tongue popping, the act of creating an audible clicking using one's tongue, has been described as the "signature catchphrase" of Alyssa Edwards. Used for emphasis in conversations, to dismiss another person or [...] as an exclamation point, the tongue pop "has crossed over into fairly mainstream queer usage", according to Jamie Lee Curtis Taete of Vice News. Edwards has released a "novelty Christmas song" called "Tongue Pop the Halls".
Popularised by Edwards, the tongue popping has been used by other drag performers, including Aquaria, Cheryl Hole and Laganja Enstranja, and by rapper Cardi B. In 2017, drag queen Alaska Thunderfuck said, "one of my favorite noises is a tongue pop. This is drag. In order to do drag, you have to learn how to do this ... And that’s different from a tongue click, which is a different mechanism, and the differentiation is very important."
To me, this is a reasonable edit. The "tongue popping" does not have enough independent coverage to be worth of its own page and this merge will improve Alyssa Edwards's page by discussing about something related to her character. --92.28.190.117 (talk) 19:32, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- I've just happened to notice that the article about Alyssa Edwards does not even mention "tongue popping", so the merging of tongue popping into this article definitely adds value to the Alyssa Edwards article. 92.28.190.117 (talk) 19:36, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose. Tongue popping is not specific to the subject. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:49, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- Yet most of the sources, including those used in tongue popping, talk about the tongue popping in relation to Alyssa Edwards. 92.28.190.117 (talk) 19:52, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
- Yes because she is often credited for popularizing. But that doesn't mean the entire Wikipedia article should be folded into her page. I'd prefer to see the tongue popping article expanded, not merged. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:19, 20 August 2021 (UTC)

- Oppose. Just because Alyssa popularized it doesn't mean it's specific to her. A lot of other queens (and entertainers in general) do it. If desired, mention it in Alyssa's article and link to this one. --Kbabej (talk) 22:26, 20 August 2021 (UTC)
