Vienna Lecture[edit]

This is an outstanding moment in his career, in the international limelight. On April 23, 2008, Ocampo gave a lecture entitled "Bridging the cultural and generation gap among second generation Filipinos in Europe" at the Philippine Embassy in Vienna.[1] --Florentino floro (talk) 07:09, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Ambeths account on BALANGAI BOATS OF BUTUAN(PDI SEPT.7,2011 ISSUE.)[edit]

Wish to thank you for your column regarding the Butuans pride-THE BALANGHAI BOATS,Every time our national papers
dicuss on something about these boats,we Butuanons are to say the least ecstatic about the issue.WE took pride
on the saying "ONCE THERE WAS NO PHILIPPINES BUT THERE WAS BUTUAN"Just recently, the team of Art Valdez'
succeeded on the VOYAGE OF THE BALANGHAIS using the same method our ancestors used, the wooden planks, the pitch, the
primitive yet durable art of creating strong seaworthy vessels.
Mayor Jun Amante just stated on his STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS that the remaining 7 undug boats will be
escavated for good and will be put on display as added tourist attraction in this city.
Again, thank you for sparing time to feature in your well read column the story of these BALANGAI BOATS.
