This hacks comments on Death Wish 2

[edit]

This should be in here its amazing how she complains about the rape scene in Death Wish 2 in a "discussion" with the Michael Winner the Director on a TV show. Even with the full support of the host, she gets destroyed by Winner again and again, so much at the end of it she says she "hope Winner is Sodomised soon!" The irony of complaining about a rape movie scene then wishing that a person be raped! Amazing!--Apemonkey1 (talk) 09:30, 8 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is the section about the sex tape scandal true? It seems a bizarre story and I couldn't find any reference on Google - I just reverted a change about Anna undeniably being a modern day prophet, and wondered whether this was vandalism (seems to have been here a while)... 82.39.13.42 22:59, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes

[edit]

Yes it is true, unfortunately people's "if it's not on Google it's not true" attitude seems to be ruining this project. Anna's on air persona is that of a modern day prophet, and she is constantly inundated with calls making this point to her, although Anna herself is somewhat embarrassed by it. Please do not blank real information! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by CarlosPauloEthetheth (talkcontribs).

The above is extremely dubious and completely unverifiable, so I have removed it from the article. Please do not add it back without citations. Please do not add fake information! Stephenb (Talk) 09:31, 5 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"She was referred to as "Dr Annabelle Lies" in The Fall's song An Older Lover Etc. on their mini-album Slates (album).[citation needed]"

Says who? Ive been a Fall fan for 28 years and Ive never heard anyone say that "Dr Annabelle" is supposed to be Anna Raeburn. Anna Raeburn isn't even a doctor, is she? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.75.53.1 (talk) 22:38, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anna Raeburn's parents and place of growing up

[edit]

I heard Anna Raeburn on Radio 4 yesterday afternoon. I am rather confused about her mother's age. Anna Raeburn was born during the penultimate year of the Second World War. However, she said that her mother was brought up by a nanny during the Second World War. I don't think I misunderstood. She was asked if she had had a nanny and said no, she was brought up by two elderly parents who bullied her. She then said that her mother had been brought up by a nanny during the Second World War. However, given that she has a sister thirteen years older than her, her mother cannot have been born much later than 1915. Did she make a mistake and mean to say that her mother was brought up during the First World War? That is all that would make sense.

I wonder what she means by her parents being elderly and her being the child of their old age. It is extremely unlikely that her mother gave birth to her after the age of fifty, which I would not call elderly.

I also wonder in which part of the world she grew up. She said that her parents didn't let her speak like the other people locally and that her mother asked, 'Do you want to be understood here or in the wider world?' Presumably this means she grew up somewhere where RP was not the usual way of speaking.--Oxonian2006 (talk) 23:44, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Semi Page Protection Request!

[edit]

Anna Raeburn in her blog has claimed to have been recently approached for payment to edit her Wikipedia bio. She seems to admit she paid a modest payment three years ago.

Her Blog says,

"Three years ago, I was solicited for a contribution to wikipedia which I often find a good starting place. The request was short, polite and realistic. I paid up and was thanked. If you put this year’s appeal in fiction, it would be over the top. When I declined I referred to it as “hyperbolic sub-sales cant.” Not brief, not dignified, the written version of that unending harangue with which so much of media is characterised" Jaymailsays (talk) 20:39, 25 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
