Australian job in the lede
[edit]@Skyring: You say in your edit summary "Australia includes many different Australian governments. The information needed is given in the job title", but that does not appear to be the case. I see you are using the source editor so what you see is:
She was formerly First Assistant Secretary of the [[Office of the Status of Women]] in the [[Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (Australia)|Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet]].
Here the word "Australia" is visible to you, but the reader sees:
She was formerly First Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Status of Women in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
where there is no mention of Australia. Now I agree that the original expression:
She was formerly Australia's First Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Status of Women in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
wasn't perhaps the clearest about the point being made (who/what is Australian). Would a better alternative be:
She was formerly First Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Status of Women in the [[Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (Australia)|Australian Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet].
so it is clear that "Australian" is specifying the Govt Dept rather being a statement about the role of the First Assistant Secretary (who could have any nationality) and/or about Summers herself? I am conscious that without being specific about Australia, people may confuse the statement as being about the UK or Canada or other countries which also have a "Prime Minister and Cabinet" model.
Would that be an improvement that satisfies all needs? Kerry (talk) 08:39, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
