They were the Colts in 1950, then they moved to New York, then back to Baltimore to become the Colts. Have I got that right? Or does the writer not know what he's talking about? Trekphiler 14:35, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
No, the writer is absolutely correct. The team was in Baltimore, and it folded. Art changed teams, and that team ended up moving to Baltimore to become the NEW Colts. Two different teams with the same name, just like the modern-day Baltimore Ravens/Cleveland Browns. 24.187.171.132 (talk) 03:12, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Death report premature?
[edit]As of 19 NOV 2006, not a single obituary. 70.19.27.246 16:42, 19 November 2006 (UTC) I just personally hung out with him this past Friday at Valley Country Club, which is now run/owned by two of his daughters, and he is 85 and sharp as a tack! He lost a ton of weight but was using an electric car to get around. He was still drinking Schlitz and a joy to see. He remembered me well, and we posted pix on Facebook. He is alive and well in 2009!!

Actually Born in 1924?
[edit]Art Donovan was a guest on The Opening Drive on Sirius NFL Radio on June 5, 2008, which was supposedly his 83rd birthday. Art revealed that he is actually 84 and that he lied when the Colts asked him his age when joining the team, telling them he was a year younger than he really was. Since then virtually all media sources have listed his year of birth as 1925, instead of when he now claims he was actually born, 1924.
Art Donovan was a guest of The Opening Drive on Sirius NFL Radio again on July 25, 2008 and again said he was born in 1924and lied about his age to Weeb Ewbank when joining the Colts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.32.223.226 (talk) 21:12, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Never played in the NFL without a helmet
[edit]Contrary to what this article says, Art Donovan never played pro football without a helmet. The last player to play without a helmet was Dick Plasman of the Chicago Bears in the 1940 NFL Championship game. Whoever says that a football card depicting Donovan without a helmet proves his inaccurate statement doesn't know what he is talking about. Football cards almost always depicted players without helmets. Sd31263 (talk) 18:26, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
