Choctaw?[edit]

I have found no source that says specifically that this was a preferred school for Creek and Choctaw girls, nor any direct statement that the school allowed Native Americans and yet at a time when segregated schools were the norm, there are many ties. Maybe the school only admitted those who were mixed? Lutie Hailey, Bessie, Mary and Annie Severs, Sudie McAlester, Ida McCurtain, Jessie Robb daughter of A. W. Robb a prominent merchant in the Creek Nation, Josie Pitchlynn Czarina Conlan (née Colbert). I wonder if there are sources in Oklahoma or Missouri which explore this further? [This] clip, states that Conlan attended a private school for Indian girls BEFORE she enrolled in Mary Baldwin College. The Oklahoma Hall of Fame clip above confirms that was Baird. I am not convinced that that is enough evidence, though. SusunW (talk) 18:54, 8 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
