[edit]Anyone know the derivation of the nickname "Bakkies"? I gather that "bakkie" is the South African term for what Australians would call a "ute" or Americans would call a "pickup truck". —Stormie 13:58, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Ja, when he was a kid his legs were Bak meaning bent, so the name stuck. 'Bakkie' does mean Ute, or pick up or whatever, but thats not where his name comes from
Bakkies Botha will play at RCT (Rugby Club Toulonnais) after the NZ world cup
[edit]Bakkies Botha signed an agreement with RCT President in March 2010 in order to be a Toulon's player after the world cup. Victor Matfield was already a lock at Toulon 2 years ago, the idea to have the perfect 2nd row during several weeks could not be a reality at this time. With Bakkies Botha and others, Toulon will be in situation to target both the French championship and the Heineken Cup. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.109.104.35 (talk) 14:40, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
Controversies
[edit]It says that he has been part of controversial decisions and the first thing after is the stamping incident. Was this actually controversial because it seems pretty straight-forward? GummyGem (talk) 23:25, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
