Brawl

[edit]

"Balloon Fighter is also an expected character for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but he is not on the confirmed character list." Is this just speculation? I guess it's possible I missed this somewhere, but I try to keep abreast of this kind of thing (Smash Bros. related news, basically) and I haven't heard anything about this. Just because they have a trophy in Smash Bros. Melee doesn't mean they're going to be playable characters in the next game... 12.210.201.89 00:11, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and removed that section after doing some more research and finding nothing to suggest that it was anything more than fanboy speculation that a character from Balloon Fight would be in the upcoming Smash Bros game. As soon as we hear anything official, I'll be more than glad to put a mention back in. 12.210.201.89 13:32, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Clone

[edit]

There's this game called balloon duel, and it's a clone of balloon fight. It's a featured game on XGen, and maybe it should be added to the list Alx xlA 02:54, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Balloon Duel is a legitimate sequel/remake of Balloon Fight, so it should be given a mention here.Idly Humming Bird 20:43, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't Balloon Duel a Fanmade Flash game? Not exactly a legitamite sequel. I am not sure how you would make it appropriate, but if you could, it would be a great mention. SBKT 15:39, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SSBM Character?

[edit]

We really need a reference for that bit about Balloon Fighter in SSBM. And, if we do, do you think we should add Balloon Fighter to the Super Smash Bros. fighters category? RememberMe? 17:43, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I remmeber reading it in an article on the internet along with a low-rez beta pic. Im trying to find it.

I've removed that bit since it's gone too long without a source, but even if one is found, he should not be added to SSB fighters, since he never actually appeared as one. 199.126.137.209 08:05, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ballon Fight Guy for SSB? HAHAHS LOOOOOL. Would he really be in there?Pendo 4 03:40, 4 February 2007 (UTC)Pendo 4[reply]

Someone please find it.--Rat235478683--

You won't find it because it doesn't exist. On the Ice Climber's profile on the official site, it lists 4 series that Sakurai considered to represent the famicom and lists reasons why he didn't include them. Balloon Fight is among them. However, like all the other franchises, there is no indication that Balloon Fighter was seriously planned to be in the game beyond consideration. So stop adding that he was going to be in, please. 75.153.231.20 22:19, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ducks?

[edit]

Are the enemies of this game ever officially labeled as "ducks?" Balladofwindfishes 23:22, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On the SSBM trophy, they're listed as ducks, so I believe so. - Mr. DigDug 23:40, 31 October 2007 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr. DigDug (talkcontribs)
No they aren't. At no point are they ever referred to as Ducks.
Balloon Fighter (trophy) The goal in Balloon Fight is to break your enemy's two balloons, depriving him of his flotation devices. If you lose one balloon, your buoyancy drops and it becomes harder to rise. As you can pop both friends' and enemies' balloons, you have to stay alert in this two-player fun fest. The balloonist's name is unknown.
Flipper (trophy) Made famous as an unpredictable obstacle in Balloon Fight, the Flipper stops and hangs in midair when thrown. Any character who comes in contact with the bumper-balls on its ends will be knocked away as the Flipper spins wildly. Flippers can be a bit irksome: in Balloon Fight they caused accidents to friends and foes alike.
In the game's manual they are only referred to as "enemies" as well. I am going to edit this ridiculous claim. (Fryguy64 (talk) 12:53, 9 January 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Nintendo President Iwata-san as programmer?

[edit]

In a special episode of Game Center CX (made exlusively for 3DS and Wii video) Comedian Arino-san plays Balloon Fight with his special guest Nintendo President Iwata-san, whom then reveals that he programmed the game (including the fish that suddenly eats the player during Balloon Trip mode). i think this is rather important to mention so here is the link to the video...
