What about Superconducting Super Collider GEM Detector?
[edit]Dr. Barish was (I hope I recall this correctly!) Spokesperson for the GEM Collaboration at the Superconducting Super Collider, during the period 1992 through 1994 that I was employed there as GEM Electrical Engineer. Apologies if Dr. Barish did not intend this to be covered, but I am surprised at its omission. Unfortunately I do not have documentation of his position, simply that he was a member of the Collaboration. On the Title Page of GEM Technical Design Report July 31, 1993) (GEM-TN-93-262, SSCL-SR-1219) he is identified as one of the Contact persons.
Best regards,

"backstory" happened, and should be included
[edit]Washington Post:
"The particle physicist earned a “sterling reputation,” Science magazine reported in 2016, blemished by a recent talk he gave in which his opening slide included a woman's bare back and “cartoonish racial caricature.” Barish apologized."
Telling the truth about those who do science is necessary, if science and scientists are to be trusted and viewed as honest.
He did it, the world saw the image, and it cannot be found by searching Google, so now it's up to Wikipedia to be the voice of truth, and hold those that win awards and gain power from those awards to the truth of what they've done. Mywikithoughts (talk) 00:50, 14 August 2022 (UTC)
